Default replacement OEM Hood price

does anybody know how much an OEM hood will cost?

my neighbor just backed his F series Ford truck into my car. so far it looks like i have to replace the hood and bumper. dunno if there's any structural damage yet, but i'm assuming there isn't...although i'll have it checked out anyway. lucky for me my shock sensor on my car alarm paged me.

from the looks of it, my hood needs to be re-aligned as well. air bags were not deployed and passenger side head light wasn't cracked.

i know from this thread how much a front bumper will cost: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...m+bumper+price

i tried calling local dealerships, but parts dept. are closed. i tried a search for an OEM hood, but didn't find anything.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

stock oem hood will cost you about $340+tax unpainted.

none come painted that i know of... and that'll cost you a few hundred more.

It's probably cheaper just to take it to a bodyshop.

You're going to have to go to one anyway to get it painted, why not get a couple of quotes from local body shops first?

x5!!!

yea, i've always wanted a CF hood so it's already crossed my mind that now would be the best time to get one.

i know there are a lot of threads for CF hoods, but for those that responded, which cf hood do u have? how much did u pay for it and where did u get it from?

i trust houseofscion.com, but for some reason can't get to their site at this moment.

based on previous SL threads, i'm aiming for the Kaminari hood...unless someone can convince me otherwise.

I just did the same thing. Hail fudged up my whole car and I took advantage of it. I two-toned it with a vented CF hood. I got the hood from 1fastscion on here. Check it all out in the link in my sig. Fit and finish of the hood is great. I absolutely love it. Its also on sale right now. Free shipping too. Check it out.

... buying a new painted hood would probably be cheaper than a CF kaminari..

but those are sooo sexy... just soooo expensive..

this thread's off topic!!!
maybe i should just start a new thread...

anyway, it'll definitely be cheaper to get new OEM painted hood instead of the Kaminari, but i've also considered OE CF hoods because i like the clean look and it's significantly cheaper.

based on some threads, i know that when buying a CF hood i should make sure it has rolled edges, clear coat and UV protection.

is there anything i should look for or get about purchasing a CF hood?

thanks everyone!
