Default Replacing The Tail Lights, Need Help...

I bought the Anzo tail lights and im having a hard time trying to figure out how to take off the stock tailights. I've used the search button (no joke) and people have said that they either had to take off or loosen the bumper to remove it completely. Can anyone tell me how to replace them? Ive seen 3 holes with the long screws where they screw into from the inside but I'm not sure if there is more to do then that.

Any help would be appreciated...

The bumper should be removed . Might be able to change them out bu loosening it but , I had to have mine removed . My Toyota Tech did mine . $ 30 . 00
I suggest removing it . Makes it simple ( if removing the bumper is considered simple )

If search doesn't give you the results you need for something like this, try the tech section.

OK I have MAJOR problems with the Anzo, the wiring harness does not match that of the TC!!! looking at at the stock wiring, it fits perfectly into the wiring of the car, but the Anzo's only have two black thingies that there are no connections for, i looked in my box that it shipped in and there is no adapter for them, there is just a piece of paper saying that if the +/- doesnt match up then switch it around. And also the paper shows the black plug, plugged into a brown piece that i do not have.

If anyone has installed the Anzo's themselves PLEASE help!

Nevermind I figured it out, you have to take the wiring of the stock bulbs out of the stock light and plug the 2 black harnesses of the Anzo's into their place where the bulbs would normally go. then connect that harness with the stock white adapter into the TC as you normally would.

VERY confusing how they made these lights..... with no manual or hint of how to install these lights it can make someone who is new to the process very confused.

I went throught the same thing. Got the bumper off, stock lights off, went to install and WHAAAA? Where do the plugs go?? So I immediately ran to the computer, pulled up SL and searched and found help. Congrats on your lights! Let us know if/when any problems occur. I have them too and love 'em!

Try this one from TRDSparks:

Used this to install my anzos. You don't have to remove the bumper, just pull out the sides.

hmmm, I guess I should have done a DIY, but I was in a hurry to get these in.

1. First take out the bulbs from your stock lights.

2. Remove the stock wire harness from the stock lights.

3. Also remove the wire harness from the Anzo lights.

4. Insert the stock harness into the Anzo light, making sure all wires are underneath the rubber grommet/seal so they don't get pinched against anything and you have a good weather seal.

5. Take the plugs from the Anzos and stick them into the bulb sockets from the stock harness.

6. Install both lights and test: on with headlights, brake, turn signals, flashers, etc.

7. If they do not light up, then you will have to turn the plugs around. If they still do not work properly, check your fuses and make sure all wires/and ballasts are plugged in.

Hope that helps!
