does anyone have or thought of putting LED' in the reverse light?
is it even possible?
i tried looking for a thread on it but couldnt come up with anything.

I have them, it makes it a lot harder to see when you are backing up at night. For the trouble, it's not really worth it... I've been meaning to change it back to regular bulbs, just been lazy..

I did the LED in there and it is a little harder to see but the look is really nice. I used a 27LED bulb and that is not the largest ones you can get. Hear are the ones i used.

I had Garage1217 Aluminum Ringed LEDs in my reverse lights. I think they were 168s. It worked, looked good, but they were not powerful enough for what I wanted.

I was trying to get the reverse lights brighter than stock.

 

yeah they look blue because of my camera. They are pure white.

 

In my experience you can have LED reverse lights or tint. I had LED's and ended up swapping them back, They are rarely used, and in this case, I'd much prefer function to looks.

 

^^i agree, i was thinking of led's to have more the reverse light have more light output, but i guess they dont produce the desired effect.

 

because of the reflector, same thing why i dont put LEDs in my license plate lights, i have a white bulb in there and its been brighter than any other LEDs ive ever stuck in there. the LEDs are all directional.

you want the brightest? a halogen bulb would be the only thing able to utilize the reflector fully.

 

Only crappy cell pic but I have mine from www.superbrightleds.com and I really like them, had them for years w/ 0 problems, not as bright as stock but doesn't bother me. I think they're only the 9 LED, brighter ones are made now.
