What do you think of my painting and masking attempt?

 

That's very cool, definitely unique! What made you choose to do flames, and why from right to left? I assume I'd do it that way, kind of from the intake away, if I did that. Good work.

I thought flames would be cool and originally I was going to do them from the front over the lettering to the back.
It never looked right so going sideways gave me more room to shape the flames.
I chose away from the intake because the oil cap would have got in the way.
I put it on a base of gunmetal as the black was boring, but you cant really see it in these shots.

i was gonna say the same, flames on cars are anything but original, been done since the 50's, but you did do a clean job, dosn't look half-a$$ed

I agree that the flame thing is overdone in general, but I havent seen much on scions. Also I thought the blue worked with the RS2.

As for being half a$$ed? I have a quote from a friend who builds $100000+ hotrods for a living.

i think that it looks pretty chill.. i want to do flames on my car, but somewat like ghost flames rather than painted orange or something like that...

but props to you, i like the overall design, and the masking job looks GREAT..

i cant tell from here the quality, but im assuming it must be great seein the masking job you did...

It is heavily clearcoated. The "black"is gunmetal metallic you just cant tell with the crappy digi camera.

It looked good before i cleared it but the clear really pulls it together
