Default RS1 ABS Lip Kit Install question?

hey everyone,
im installing the RS1 abs lip kit that i bought from racing solution, i was just wondering if there is some method to put this thing on cuz i got no instructions with the kit. my main problem is the rear bumper.....i fit it very nicely on one side and work my way around the car, however, when i get to the opposite side, the kit is short by about .5-1". i looked around on here and everyone seems to have no fitment problems, so am i doing somthing wrong??

Please help!!!

all comments and flames are welcome, i just need some help.

Thanks all!
Dan

maybe ask someone to help you... it'll be way easier that way..and make sure the car is on a flat surface... try to see if you can put both sides first before screwing anythin...also you can use double sided tape.....btw did it come with two brackets?

mine didn't fit perfect either, i had to do a little filing in certain spots to get a better fit.

Default lip

well i wouldn't say perfectly but good enough that i dont have to modify anythin... i had the opportunity to go the shop to test fit first before takin it home... i used double sided tape for the front lip and used to screws on each side and used the two brackets under in each corner so that if i scrap i hit the metal bracket instead of the lip itself...works wonders so far

only problem i encontered while heping a friend with the side skirts was that one was twisted a little, but if you leave it in the sun for 15-20 minutes it becomes pliable...

trick for the side skirts, put them over the factory ones... then mount them in the wheelwells with a few screws...

its not twisted or anything like that.it just rubs a lil when we shut the door.on the edge or corner on the side where your seatbelt is located.

Not sure if I wanna get the kit if it is gonna be rubbing anything at all.

Why would u put the stock sideskirts inside the RS1 ones? Just wondering what that does.

I am really thinking bout getting this kit but I don't wanna have to do any moding or have any issues if I do.

The RS1 skirts HAVE to go over the stocks if you don't want the skirts to flop around...the only skirts I know that are a DIRECT replacement for the stock sides is the OEM lip kit.

The Stock skirts act like a brace for the RS1 sides....I don't really like this idea, but if you (or a GREAT body shop) install these right, they'll look AWESOME...

Any RS1 lip kit owners can chime in at any time, , lol

i put mine over the stock sides, no problem. i *did* have to put 2 screws into the door sill to get them to stay flush though *doh*

just put mine on last night with LOTS of help from someone who knows what they're doing of course.
what i learned:
-double sided tape is your friend
-fitment on the front bumper is not perfect where the car sort of flares on the side
-i noticed a little rubbing on the side skirt where the door covers it...makes sense, doesn't bother me
-the rear of my side skirt (1 screw) looks a little flared (think like a bell shape, i want it more flush) so will probably try and add another screw to hold it in at the bottom
-i like the rear bumper a LOT

other than that the kit is pretty subtle, i'm content

scews in the door sill??
