ive heard this rumor, that tCs have problems with the sunroof.... what do you guys know of this... whaTs really up with that?

you,... what i find alittle incredible... is that most of you waste the time to reply with a "do a search" reply... when you could have simply either ignored the post or replied with the answer...

anyways... the answer to the question is that there has been a few people with sunroof problems... the problem go from loose screws/nuts on the mechanism... to glass just shattering. both can be taken care of at the dealer..

 

If you have an 05 or early 06 model, you should have got a letter in the mail saying there is a recall on the wind deflector. Take it into the dealer, they put a clear laminate on the underside, and you get a toy in the mail a month or two later.

The only other sunroof problem that I know of is the rattles. In that case, just turn up your stereo a few notches and problem solved.

 

there's a problem with the sun roof as far as me leaving it OPEN when its raining!!

There's also a possiblility of a genetic recall for those of us who arn't smart enough to close the sun roof when we're suppost ro...

i've been doing a lot of reading and searching on scionlife. but there's never really a real answer... so does the dealer know what is wrong when the trunk/sunroof rattles or not? some ppl say they go to the dealer but the dealer has no clue how to fix it, then some ppl mention they just have to add some screw or tighten something else. then another guy on this thread said the 06 models (the one i will recieve next week) won't have any rattle problems.

so whats the final word on this rattle issue?

i have an '06 and have had an '05 without any rattle issues for the moonroof for either.

it happens on occasion so not all cars will have it... and an experienced person would know what it is and how to fix it. also from another thread, rattles are inevitable sometimes... every car's gonna have something..., whether it's a beater honduh, to an expensive sports car...

if it bothers you that much... that's what the radio's for.

squalheart, thanx for your input. i hope mine would be the better of the group... just wondering, why did you trade in your 05 to get the 06?

 

Are you saying you never cruise down the highway with the sunroof open? I love it on warm sunny days...just open up the roof and windows and go driving.
