Default s2000 antenna + loctite = ?reception

i am currently waiting for my s2k antenna to arrive in the mail and i was wondering if putting loctite on the threads would affect the reception? i tried searching but people just say loctite it for theft prevention but dont mention if it affects reception. thanks.

If they say to use it and have, Im pretty sure it's fine for reception... There still will be metal to metal contact in there, so I'd imagine it'd be okay...

I used it too (after some idiots stole oem a couple of weeks after I first got my car). I put a dab only at the tip coz I didn't want to overspill the stuff plus I was worried about the reception too.

i noticed not difference in reception. when my S2000 antenna was stolen the loctite kept the metal base on, so thief was only able to rip off the rubber part. i had to use vice grips to remove the antenna base.

I'm on my third S2K and I finally put Loctite on it... A lot of Loctite actually... and reception hasn't been affected.

there wouldn't be no effect on the reception because it still tounching metal from its center core so it shouldn't matter. thats pretty sad when someone has to steal someone elses antenna

I think someone TRIED to steal mine too because I noticed that the bottom was bulging out more than usual. But when I tried to take it off, only the rubber part twisted.

i plan on using a piece of double-sided 3m tape. i'll cut it to make it un-noticeable.

Reception seems unaffected with mine. But if it did, I'd rather have bad reception and an antenna than no antenna with bad reception.
