its good to see the tC guys have a clue when it comes to getting real hids

i had 2 diff retros on my xB before i got rid of it

s2k retro and a ece valeo d2s retro and i got flack from a ton of people about retros not being worth the dollars

nothing beats OEM ... yes its expensive.. but if u want hids done right .. you gotta pay

ill be getting my retro started shortly .. im also going to go with s2ks

nothing beats the s2ks

damnn gotta be amazed at how sharp the cutoff is for the s2000 projectors. Your headlights are the best looking in my opinion

now thats a thing of beauty .. i love the blu-ish LED in the highbeam .. creative .. now what i wanna see is an LED strip in the eyebrow (yeah i know clearcorners.com did them but damn they are expensive) .... hands down one of the best HID conversions of all time in the tC ... i wish it didnt take so much $ and time to do that .. im afraid of hacking into my wiring harness if i dont know what im doin .. but im a HUGE fan of HIDs.. that just looks SOOO good .. i see too many people that do it wrong .. i mean it looks nice but the optics are messed up .. ya gotta do a full projector ballast and stuff like that to make it look right .. the cut off is picture perfect .. congrats man

You don't have to hack into your wiring harness. If you don't know how to build one or are too lazy, you can usually buy a 9006 relay harness that will plug into your stock harness and draw power from the battery. You can just modify that harness to power the ballasts and you're fine. That way you can always go back to stock lighting... although I don't know why you'd want to. I had TSX projectors in my last retrofit, but right now I'm installing a 6 point roll bar and then I'll probably get a new intercooler before I do HID again.

yup... besides some t-taps i put into parking lights, my retrofit is actually 100% reversable (with spare OEM headlamps of course). in fact, i'm rolling with halogens right now =O since i'm making some minor modifications to my retrofit. i'm also adding an exclusive accessory from a local manufacturer. stay tuned for pics in the next few days.

How tough was it to level out your lights after you put your hids in? I know the headlights have adjustments, I mean putting the projector in straight. Were you just crossing your fingers, please elaborate.

it was pretty easy, i did it against a brick wall and aligned it to be parallel to the bricks. the stock adjusters adjust vertical alignment. when mounting the projector, keep in mind you want to have 2 degrees of freedom, rotation and lateral adjustment. that way, your beam is freely adjustable to your liking

Great job. One question, are your angel eyes visible during the day? I can't really see mine unless its night time or in an indoor parking lot.

you have the stock 5 series angel eyes right? they're fed thru a fiber optic cable. CCFL tubes are many times brighter and very visible even in bright daylight.

here's a picture of my maxima with ccfls, picture was taken at noon time

thanks maximus, thats exactly what I was looking for. I'm thinking about buying a CCFL kit off ebay but all I see is for e46 (no e55). Do you think they will fit?

nope, E46 won't fit, i tried. the rings are too small for the outside hole and too big for the inside. right now umnitza is the only source for CCFL for the tc.
