i have the ait racing n1 silver carbon fiber hood and a silver carbon fiber hatch. i was wondering if anyone make silver carbon fenders for the tc. if so where can i get them.

 

not that i know of. im sure that the company that makes them would be able to make you some in silver.

i don't have them on my car yet. their waiting to be clear coated so they won't turn yellow from the uv rays. i had a silver hood that turned yellow so i took it off. i just baught some axis rims so i'm tapped for cash rite now. i went with 19x8 in the front and 19x 9.5 in the rear. i'm looking to get the fenders if they make them so i can clear coat everything at the same time.

 

Damn. 19X9.5 in the rear. That's some wide ___ rims back there. Going for the muscle car look?

I know I've seen cf fenders. not silver tough. google it

 

i've tried to google it but nothing for the tc. i've contacted alot of the company's that make the regular black fenders. but no one wants to make them in silver.

why ditn you talk to firmwareworx? or motor fx? or bBist? the mak cf stuff.

can you just paint it? say you get the cf ones in back and take it to motor f to make it silver?

 

motor-fx does'nt do colored carbon anymore. neither does bbist. i haven't talked to mike at firmware worxs yet. i should hit him up. but i don't think they will since they probably don't have a mold of the trunk yet.

 

FYI.....CF does not turn yellow from UV rays. It turns yellow from the Heat coming off of your engine. Notice how the only thing YELLOW is the hood... It's because of engine heat, NOT UV rays. Not to mention, they are already Clear Coated to begin with.

 

i don't beleive that to be true. i have had silver carbon hoods on other vehicles that i clear coated and never had them yellow. i have called several company's that make carbon fiber. they've told me that it's actually the resin that is getting burned from the uv rays, not the carbon fiber. and i don't trust when a company say's they've already clear coated it. i learned the hard way they did'nt. so now i always do it myself.

 

^^if you say so. Just funny how I have a CF hood....AND CF fenders, and the fenders don't have a spic of yellow in them. Only the hood does.
