Silverstar Ultra vs stock halogens, comparison pics included
Okay guys, I finally got my 07 tC and I knew I wanted to upgrade the headlights to something whiter, that would look close to HID without spending a small fortune on HID conversion kits and bulbs, etc. The new Silverstar Ultra halogen bulbs from Sylvania did just the trick. I did also switch out the small #168 bulb in the low beam housing with a blue tinted #168 bulb, and it helped some with the "Blue" look, but you can tell from these pics below that even the high beam and the foglight has a much whiter and brighter light, with a slight bluish tint.
Right now, Sylvania is offering a $10.00 mail-in rebate when you buy a pair, so they end up being only a couple of bucks more expensive than the regular silverstars and these bulbs have a much longer life and are even brighter. I got mine at Auto Zone.
In this first picture, I've replaced all the bulbs on the drivers side of the car (the right side of this picture) with the Silverstar Ultras. It's obvious that they are much whiter and brighter and don't exhibit any of the yellow tint of the stock bulbs.

Here is a picture of the headlights on Bright, Silverstar Ultras again are whiter with a slight tinge of blue.

And finally, two close up pics of the headlight housings. The upper photo is the passenger side which has the stock bulbs and is noticeably yellow, while the lower picture is the drivers side, which has the Silverstar Ultras installed, and it's noticeable whiter with just a slight blue hue.

Let me know what you think, guys!

thanks for the compliments, Maqyger. I'm not sure what the deal is with the pics, because some people can see them and some can't. I could see them on here last night, but today they aren't showing up. I haven't taken any pics of the lights against a wall yet, but I can tell you i've already noticed a slight tilt down in the cut off line leaning toward the drivers side, in BOTH headlights. Once I find a good wall to use, I'll get some pics posted (and HOPE that everyone can see them on here! lol)
Yeah I can't see them from this page but when you right click view image it opens up another broswer and then I'm able to see your pictures. Those bulbs look good. Do you have any other angle shots with those Silverstar ultras? Nicely done with the comparisons
I got the silverstar ultra's for my highs. they work great. I had stock ones a year that weren't bad, but you can definitely see a difference. I droped in some 8k hids and the two together work awesome....
