smoked headlights?
niteshades has a a lil red mixed with the black.... so it might come out a lil purple if you do it on the headlights. it works on taillights because those are already red. hope that helps.
headlightarmor also has them. Nightshades can also be extremely dark. Like ska's tails....that's assuming you apply as many coats as he has. Considering that they're used to actually see stuff, I wouldn't suggest it.
Then again, I have no experience with that stuff, so why am I even speaking........

I've got ClearGuard smoked overlays. If I get popped, I can peel them off. What are you going to do if they're painted? There's a light decrease but since my driving is 99% freeway or city, it's not an issue. When I went to my parent's out in the boonies, it was noticable for sure. But dang, it looks good, don't it?

The problem with using nightshades is this.
It is very hard to get it even and smooth. Plus you ahve to sand them afterwards and then clear and then sand again to get them to come out right. You dont know for sure if they are going to be too dark or too light until you are totally done.
Then for removal you have to use a strong cleaner (ie laquer thinner) or something like that. This can cause your lights to dry out and crack the plastics lense itself which means you are out a set of new headlights.
There is a big risk and uncertainty when using night shades. Sure the product costs like $8.00 and seems like the cheap way to go, but the side effects can cost a lot more.
We offer smoked light film that is actaully a light pteoction film that prevents rocks, dirt, sand and other road going debris from damaging the light while adding color.

If we can heelp with anything else please let us know. Oh yeah, our kit installs in 10 minutes.
Hope this helps answer more of your question

Toastbox sent me some overlays that I failed really bad at putting on. I couldn't get rid of the wrinkles at the lense bends and a few bubbles would not go away.
I got the night shade and wow is that the best stuff to use. No need to remove the tails...just tape good (I used that blue painters tape). Then taped newspaper to that and off I went.
I put on a light layer, waited 10 min, light layer, 10 min, etc. I kept going until It was dark enough . I waited 1/2 hour then started doing the same thing with clear coat. light coat and wait 10 min...I did light coat 3 times then applied a medium "wet" last coat. Waited 1/2 hour and took off all the tape and newspaper.
WOW...not a single run.
2 days later I used light rubbing compound and it looks perfect.

If you look at the thread that I started regarding my smoked tails, I couldn't get about 20 wrinkles out....but hey came out themselves
I also left a MASSIVE bubble that still had soapy water underneath it that I didn't notice. I washed my car like a month later and they all disappeared. I LOVE my tails
