First of all big thanks to Dieselstation for introducing this to me.

here is what I did diffrently from Dieselstation. I blocked out the reverse lights and I only did 2 coats intead or three.

Wet sand? Clear coat? Looks good so far!

 

clear coat. did not feel like wet sanding was extremely necessary.

 

what did u use to block out the reverse lights?

 

I used blue 3M tape. Be very careful going arround it and block it.

 

Did you get a little over spray on it?

 

looks like it. I'd have taken them off personally. Like I did when I did mine.

 

For the overspray, just claybar it.

No...No over sparay just dirty. I made sure.

 

i'd at least hit them up with an orbital buffer and some rubbing compound...

they dont look very shiny just yet.

 

I'm doing a spare set of OEM tails tomorrow. Dying to see how glossy I can get them. Should I smoke the reverse light out as well?

Looks sweet. I was going to do mine but I want to get a set of 08's to do it.

 

I did the spray for my last car and for me i would never do it again. When its really sunny out and you hit your brakes you cannot see the light shine through the tails.
Id recommend paying for the tint by lamin-x instead. its more but worth it.

 

I already have the tint for my mirror signals and my third brake light. i am probably going to use the tint on the taillights but it will be hard to leave out for the reverse lights with tint (actually its vinyl)

 

it shouldnt be that hard to do that
