Default so what could be wrong with my new TC?

got a 2010 scion tc and the little glass in the sunroof the wind deflector thing shattered. well i called my ins. company and took it to a glass shop they replace it. they called to tell me it was ready but when you go to close it it gets to the part where the back will drop down and then it will reopen insted of fully closing. now its at the local toyota dealer and they are looking at it. anyone have any ideal on what i could tell them on what is wrong? i have had my car in the shop now for over 2 weeks for 1 peice of glass.

it is called, there is something blocking the wind deflector from going down. either there is something in the rack or at one of the joints in the way, or the rails need to be lubricated. if they can't figure out that something is setting off the pinch guard, they're retarded.

have the tried resetting the roof? close the roof, and then hold the close button for like 10 seconds, and it is reset, and should work then.

had my tc 5 years now, no glass damage yet. really isn't a huge problem as people make it out to be.

yea its supposed to be a safety thing that if the BCM senses the motor increase in voltage draw to close the glass it opens up again. this is to prevent ppls body parts from being cut off. in your case you probably have a glass shard jamming it. worst scenarios are that it got bent during reinstall thus u needing a new roof rail.

There was a recall? I've had to hold down the front deflector to get mine to go down. Last time they slopped on more grease on the track and it worked for a little. If I'm not going 45+ with the wind pushing it down. My sunroof if not closing with my hand holding down the deflector.

where the hell have you been chris? 2005 and early '06 had a TSB where they added a laminate to the wind deflector to prevent shards of glass flying all over the place when it broke.

(notice i said it never PREVENTED it from breaking)

the dealership is stupid if they can't find out what's wrong with it and are just gonna replace the whole roof.. but hey.. as long as you're not payin for it.

something is just jamming the the moonroof... either it's a small piece of glass that may have been from the broken piece.. or it needs more grease... there's not much left as far as what it could be.. unless the installer screwed up something when the deflector was replaced.

they don't need a whole new roof for that.

No it doesnt say anything about that, it just says do not drive with it fully open. You can have it like 3/4 of the way open or something like that
