Some HID questions.
Yeah There's prolly a thousand of these on here already but i can't find them cause the search on this site is not so great. But anyway i have some questions that I really hope you gurus can answer for me. It's prolly really simple stuff I just don't know.
1. Do projector housings offer a better look than the stock ('06) housing would? I mean I like them anyway so I'm prolly gonna get those but I'm just wanting to know if they help with HIDs at all.
2. I just want a light blue tint to my lights nothing that's going to get me into trouble. Do you think 6000k or 8000k look better?
3. Are the plug and play units easy to install? I see how they just plug into the harness but what's the extra power and ground for and where does it go?
4. What's the best place to get them from? There are so many options, Money isn't really and issue as long as it's under $200 but if I can get a deal I'll take it as long as the product is good.
That's some of my questions I'll prolly have more later but that's all that I can think of for now. Thanks

1. yes
2. 6000k has a blue tint to it, 8000k is pretty much blue
3. your stock halogen bulb connector is not strong enough to handle the the ballasts so you use a relay connected to the battery to deliver enough power to the ballasts and your stock connectors simply serve as the switch for the relay.
4. MobileHID is the best

1. Projector housings are always better for HID lighting because they provide a cleaner cut off line to help with glare.
2. I just ordered a kit, and haven't gotten it in yet, but I went with 6000K because I wanted white with a small tint of blue.
3. Most aftermarket HID units come plug and play, but you should get a relay harness anyway. The red wire on the relay will go to power, black to ground, the female socket takes one of your headlight plugs, and the two male sockets plug into the HID ballast. Then you simply connect the HIDs to the ballast and plug them in the headlights. The relay allows the ballast to draw power from the battery, as opposed from the stock wiring, which can be harmful in the long run, and also gives you a slightly brighter light and a solid fire up every time with minimal flickering.
4. There are a million vendors, but they're almost all the same. Mobilehid is the preferred brand around here. I ordered a kit from Umnitza in the classifieds, he has them for 65 shipped right now, and I ordered the relay from cliff at mobilehid for 20.

Keep saving up for a retro...08 projectors have a good cutoff except for the squirrel spotters. They actually are amazingly annoying, bright as hell for anyone in front of your vehicle even if you lower them quite a bit. If you bake em open then you can get rid of that issue but it's w/e.
But 6k like the others have said is what you'll want.

Yes, 6k has a slight hint of blue but also keep in mind that projectors tend to make the beam look a diffrent color when you're looking at it, its easy however use a relay so ou wont fry everything, and operatic on these forums

What do you think?
The two half-oval white spots above the cutoff beam are called squirrel spotters. They are inevitable unless you modify them.

I thought you said you were changing out 06 for some 08s but I'm not sure if there are spotters in the 06s.
The halo Ebay headlights are supposedly nothing but trouble but I would do some research if you really want to enjoy fogging issues, etc.

Anyone actually has pics of the ebay projectors installed?
I am tempted as one of my friends got one headlight for his Honda Civic and it is working great. Afterall how long can they keep selling it if the product is that bad. Even the HID kits look promising.

We also sell relays for $15, you have no need for them with our HID kit no matter what anyone says.
