Some one stoled my antenna!
That little gap's nothing that a rubber O-ring from a hardware store won't fix. It'd be an easy (not to mention cheap - they're like 3 cents) to keep the threads from rusting under there.
I'll definetly be getting one of those S2K antennas soon. They look so much better than stock.

I had a buddy use thread lock, and it worked to well, and he snapped his antenna off when he tried to remove it.
The threads won't rust. They're either brass or cadmium plated or something. If you do get an o-ring it would be mainly for looks. I've had my antenna on since July/August and the threads look the same as when I installed it.
what about just filing down the post 2-3mm? i think that should take care of the problem. (something i might do once my car comes in!!!! i'm so excited i already bought the friggin antenna but i still don't have the car!

I dunno if you are in an area with good reception, but I ran a test here in CA, on I-5, in an area with bad reception, while on a road trip. The full antenna was actually able to a pull in a few stations that the shorty couldn't. . . but all in all, you'd never notice the difference. It's a good antenna, but if you live in a shady area with low reception, you may want to stick with a stockie.

that way no one has to worry about jacked antennas.
