Can it be done???? (sorry if its a dumb question) I searched and just found people who have them replaced their OEM tails for the anzo's. I know you have to take out your stock harness from your taillights but I dont know if your able to do this on the TYC's...PLEASE tell me I can do the swapp!!!!!! Please chime in A.S.A.P.!!!

Yeah, it's do able.

You might need to do a bit of wiring. My friend went from the OEM to smoked TYC and we had to find out what wires were what, then wire it up because the TYC had this strange plug. I don't know if they were supposed to be like that - it could have just been the lights that he bought.

But for a simple answer, yes, you can do it. Just might be a bit harder than plug and play.
Heck, you can do just about anything with your lights if you are good enough with wiring and body work.

I didn't mean take the harness's and mix and match. I meant to splice the wires together. It is seriously the easiest way to go. If you take pics of the the anzos wiring (including the back of the light), and the stock wiring, I can help you a bit more.

I think he was thinking that you would NEED to use the stock or the Anzo quick connects or harness. If someone doesn't know much about the splicing or how to find out what wire is what, they might not think that it would be possible.

That, or the question was just worded wrong. I mean, you could give your car wings, a jet engine and maybe make it fly if you wanted... it wouldn't be impossible. But, it would be kind of hard.

I believe he is going from TYC to Anzo... not stock to Anzo. The TYC uses a different connection, so you have to do some (minimal) wiring.

If you read the above posts, I posted about a friend that bought them. The TYC had a connection that was not even close to the stock connection. They use the same wires, but are connected to a different "plug" that then stock lights.
I also said that I don't know if this is normal, and that it could have just been the lights that he bought. But those are the only ones I have seen.

If you know more, please shed some light.

I don't think the problem is so much that the light is not complete or in halves. I think the light comes complete, but the wiring harness is different. In order to plug into stock wiring, it's easiest to use the stock connection. If he, for some reason, got rid of the stock harness (maybe during a previous swap), then he would be missing part of the complete package.

But then again, I don't really know if I am on the right track because he hasn't posted anything about the last several posts.

Yeah, you need the harness from the OEM tails to install it. I was ____ed when i had to go to storage to get them...luckily i got there before they closed.

I went from the OEM's to the TYC's to the ANZO's...i don't know what i was thinking when i went to the TYC's
