hey everyone....ok so heres my deal, i got my scion almost 5 months ago, and im loving every second of it, and i get soo many compliments too, some guy even mistook it for his $60,000 lexus, and told me he liked my car better than his! anyways, basically the only thing ive done to my tc so far is 15% tint all around.....bc i havent had the $ to do anything to it untill now, i really wanna switch out the tail lights, here are some pics of the ones im thinking bout, oh and keep in mind i got the classic silver!!!! so lemme know what yall think! thanks!!!!

the tyc from the dealership look nice, or you can keep the stock ones, and use a smoke vinyl..inexpensive

 

ummmm not liking them! I would get the TYC ones from the dealer and put a red overlay to make them look stock like this!



i love the way that looks! If i ever get the TYC tails im getting this type of overlay! I want it to look as stock as possible!

Also, my personal opinion (since you asked) would be to smoke the tails already on the car. Just darken them using one of the overlays available here. I'm not a fan of clear tails (jmo) ;).

Personally, I think you're better off buying the TYCs and just painting them with Lens Paint like I did.

Too many of the tails out there look like they belong on a Civic, not a Scion. Mine basically look stock. Even other tC owners say that they thought my TYCs were stock tails. (Until they saw them light up.) Or, you could always leave the TYCs naked. They look better on a silver tC than some of the other colors.

 

Go with the TYC tails and check out the overlays that Blue Batmobile makes. That's my plan, eventually.

 

Thanks for all the help guys! i really liked the tyc tail lights from the dealer, but i heard alota people on here sayin how ugly they look n what not. my friend has em on her silver tc now and i always thought they looked good, but i seroulsy nevre thought of smokin em, thanks for the pics! it really helped!

 

ok, so I just installed my TYC's and some of these pictures are confusing... The red part, is it just a reflector except for the part visable from the side? Or is it supposed to light up with the brake lights? I think it looks like its lit in most pics from the cameras flash, but I just wanna make sure its not supposed to light up so I didnt get ripped. thanks.

its from top, blinker...reflector...brake. i wish there was no reflector tho!

 

yea, the reflector should be lit. It just seems odd because the side marker on the reflector is lit, but not the rest. I love the new look tho. lookin to smoke top and bottom soon too.

I don't... and if you tint the TYC, they are a clean option...

Cardinal rule of tC modding for me... if it says JDM, don't buy it for the tC. Thus, why I feel for any of the above options very little

the TYC's look so much cleaner then those other ones posted. the red overlays would make it look even better. and more OEM looking. since just about all of the Toyota/Lexus line up are now going full LED. just my .02
