looks nice! Did you do them yourslves, or get the professionally done? I have heard from some others that they are kind of hard to get right. If you did the install yourself, I would be interested in hearing how difficult it was.

about 2 hours total. i think it helps if there are 2 people involved. as for the 3rd brake light, i didn't really like the way it looked so i opted not to do it, but my friend did suggest getting the side mirrors...so we'll see what happens with that

Ya, I guess because you have a FM tC, the 3rd brake light might not blend in aswell as on a BSP.

I have a FM tC, and I have all of the previously mentioned overlays installed.

I personally hated how the white LED bar stood out on the tailgate. I think the third brake light overlay was by far the best exterior mod choice I've made yet.

The taillights were a pain in the ___, but I did not have a heat gun available to me. I eventually used a hair dryer, which did help, but it was a good 3 1/2 hours of labor on a Sunday afternoon one weekend.

Sorry for the low quality pic. Bad camera.

Hey Mslgrrl:

Thanks for checking out my overlayed 3rd brakelight. Yours look Awesome!!! I was thinking about those, but I figured they might grab the cops' attention too.

Next is to debadge the "tC" to get an even cleaner look!

Can someone explain to me what an overlay is, its purpose, and why people do them? I don't understand this upgrade.

I think it just takes out some of the contrast of the darker cars (BSP/FM) and gives a cleaner look. I have SSM and thought about it, but wouldn't look good on a lighter car. It's just a fairly inexpensive mod to get a different look for your car. The turn signal overlays look pretty clean too.

about the overlays not looking good on lighter cars, i saw some on a SW tC and it was hot! i thought it was really clean and made the car look a lot better, in my opinion

SW I could maybe see it looking good because they're opposite colors. You're (nearly) blacking out the lights on a white car. That wouldn't look as bad as black and grey.

black + black = ok
black + white = ok
black + mix = eh...

Have the cops bothered you about light output yet? I have BCP tC and am interested in something different as far as tail lights.

Very nice! Remember guys, the reflectors are still visible with my Overlays. I also have a lighter 3/10 tint as well. I'd redout the 3rd brakelight, then smoke it with the same kit, to match your taillights .

Default woohoo!

Hmmmm... that driveway looks awfully familiar!!

Could it be... that CURBY finally got her tC??? =)

Woohoo! Now there's 2 xBs and 2 tC's in the group!

Great job on the overlays, btw! Andy just ordered the 3rd brake light one for mine. Wish me luck, I always have a way of screwing up things, so it'll probably be all crookedlike. Are you gonna get springs soon? Heard you're itching to lower it already?
