Angry Third light problem

So i recently went to open my hatch and accidentally snapped the plastic piece above the license plate right off, now its just hanging by the brake wire. Has anyone had this problem? If so how bad of a fix is it? where do you get the hardware????

You have two options.. either take it off and epoxy it back together. or replace it.
you can find them on trdsparks

Are you talking about the third brake light or the rear garnish with the Scion emblem on it?

Mine has been fine for 2 years now.

1. Open hatch with button located on underside of rear garnish.
2. Lift hatch by using anything other than the rear garnish.

jb kwik is your best bet. mine broke right after i got done clay barring, compounding, glazing and waxing my car. it made it look like trash. i wanted to kill someone.

just make sure to remove the garnish and the mounting pieces before you start epoxying stuff. do it off the car. and dont close your hatch while youre doing it becuase it a pain to open it without the button.

It happens...I broke mine off as well about 2 yrs ago. Various others have also, but like others said either epoxy the plastic tabs back on if you can, or opt for a new one. When I broke mine (The dreadful forgetting the trunk was locked) luckily I had only broken the tabs on one side and was able to epoxy it back together.

It's held in by 2-3 plastic clips. It has nothing to do with the 3rd brake light and this thread is completely misleading now.
