Default Tint or no tint?

So it's gotten colder here in Cali so right now I don't really NEED tint but it does look nice to have. I'm debating whether I should go for it, or wait until mid spring / summer to go for some tint. So lets see here... which should it be?

1 or 2?

Also does 2 look too dark? What % would the tint be if it was like in 2?

I'm a big fan of tint on most cars, the tC being one of them. However I keep hearing about the strict tint laws in Cali, I don't know how it is in your area, but that should be taken into consideration.

Also the tint in pic #2 looks really dark, that'll definately be limo tint (5%)

I would go 20% if you tinted.

Go for it! Tint looks great on the tC, especially BSP.

I would go for the tint. I am about to do the same on my BBM. Most tint shops here in Cali will NOT do your front side windows however due to the fact here it is illegal. Some shop may do it but they will not guarantee the work or give you a reciept to protect their own butts. I have heard however if you have a prescription from the optomotrist stating that the tint helps avoid vision problems from lights etc, cars behind you then you can get away with it. Best of luck to you!

Looks about 35%

20% could look like that on a bright day when the sun is shining through your windshield.

35% you can see the passenger through the window, and pretty much make out their face.

20% you can only see only a sillhouette and barely make out their face. At night, all the light shines back and it's close to mirror.

20% Night (with a parking lot light directly over my windshield)

20% Day from the side

20% from the rear/side

See what I mean? 20% differs alot depending on the location of the light.

Probably the safest % to go with would be 5% Hatch and 35% everywhere else except the windshield of course. 5% Hatch will make the 35% appear darker than it really is. I have 20% Hatch and 35% all around...

I wish I would have gone 5% on the Hatch. Cali is strict so be careful!
