i have this big issue with tint, im in love with limo tint on all windows!
so yesterday/ today, this is what i did

Cali sucks with the stupid tint law's

the last cop that pulled me over was like yeahh im not gonna give u a ticket

then he came back like, "please sign here" so i told him i hated him

it was kind of funny, because he looked shocked when i say " I hate you" then he just went on and told me at least i didnt call him a **** hole

anyways theres my tint story, ive had like 5 tickets
but tint helps me out sometimes

i use it as a security device (ppl cant see in)
and last time a cop was like pop the hood
and i was like noo but i have tint! and he just gave me a tint ticket instead and didnt even car about the engine anymore lol


theres my tint rant! Damn i hate cali!

In cali i think you have to take the car to CHP to get it checked off right? yea i feel you man tint is awsome but Cali aint allowing that....Nice swap btw lol

That's the chance you take by tinting your windows. (I'm in the same boat.)

You can thank your local gang bangers for the tint law. Some time ago a CHP (I believe) pulled a car over
on the freeway for a minor infraction. When he approached the vehicle, they rolled down the tinted
window and shot him. He either died at the scene or later on. I can't remember, it's been quite a while.
That's one of the reasons why dark tint is illegal in Cali.

 

This happened to me the first time back in '92, stopped for no front plate, but then he noticed my tint and gave me a ticket for that too. The tint was VERY light (almost factory), while the rear windows had dark tint, but he informed me that ANY tint on the front side windows was illegal. It was just a low-cost "fix it" ticket, had to show the CHP and get them to sign-off once I removed the front side window tint with a razor blade.

I guess it's the law for 2 main reasons;
1) generates a lot of revenue for the state because of the tickets
2) too many cops walked up to windows they couldn't see in and were shot because they didn't see the gun

 

Looks hot limo'd. Don't give in. Cali isn't the only place that will get you for that. I refuse to take mine off because I love it.

 

let me get this straight, you've received 5 tickets for tint? yet the state of california is stupid because they have a law that you might don't agree with...then you tell the cop you hate him for enforcing the law that you've repeatedly broke, wow. if i was the cop and some 19 year old kid told me he hated me, i would have had him pop the hood and written you up for everything i could find...

while i dont appreciate nor care for a-hole cops, mouthing off to them isn't going to help your situation, or the rest of us tC drivers.

btw, i do like how your tint looks, and it does suck that we can't have our front windows tinted.

got a ticket a few months ago and cause of the turbo never got around to it

 

well to start off the reason I told the cop I hated him is because I told him I already had a ticket that i needed to take care ofand that I was getting the tint off within the same week which was true. I even showed the ticket to him! loll

and when I said I hated him it wasn't in a smart **** way..it was jokinly and he knew that and lauged.

I've gotted cited for tint 5 times, but that was because my car was screaming LOOK AT ME!!!!!!!!!!

So while I was getting other tickets they'd throw in a tint ticket as well..

I would always get pulled over because I had the loudest exhaust, and I ordered new plates so I didt have any plates at the time and they just loved to mess with me loll

People on here complain about getting tickets for stuff they ALREADY know is illegal....

It's like watching a dog chase his tail!!!

...do yourselves a favor, save all the money you waste on tint & tickets and put it towards a more expensive car instead of throwing it out the window!

 

Your tints are not really that bad. But some people abuse tints like drugs. Look at this please, because I don't know how this person drives around.
