Tint ticket, what to do?
What up guys, I have 20% tint around my car and live in Jersey. I got stopped for it today and the cop did NOT give me a ticket, but said I have 7 days to show them it is off, otherwise I will get a ticket in the mail....Problem is, I am only 17, so are the cops going to give me a hard time and throw some more fines on the ticket?
I have 3 options,
A: Take the tint off, but its probably going to cost more to have it removed than the cost of the ticket.
B: leave it on and just pay the ticket...Does anyone know how much these cost? I've heard anywhere from $50 to $100....
C: Have 2 new windows put in and then replace them with my tinted ones...could be just as costly...
Please send your opinions this way

its easy to take the tint off....just use a razor blade and some elbow grease to peal it off.....depending on the amount of the ticket, just pay the ticket, but just know that you will probably draw more attention to yourself afterwards and might end up with another tint ticket....just know from personal experience
That is why I love a living in a county that doesn't have the meters to read tint, only time I have trouble is if I go on the highway and state police.
I can get a ticket and just pay for it and I won't get harassed for not taking it off.

Looks like you can't have any tint on your side windows. I'd say pay it and move on, and if you get stopped again, take it off.

I never knew anybody that didnt get a ticket for that - they always got a ticket and some of them had to go to court and prove it was off. If the ticket doesnt show up on your record its better to take it off. I dont know if it shows up even if you take it off.
Lets say it shows up only if you get the ticket and pay ... then the next time you get stopped you will 100% get a ticket cause the cop sees that. Then he might give you another ticket for something else you did. Cops hate kids in NJ. Do what you can not go get things on your record. State police forget about .... you get pulled over by them .... you get a ticket. Their job is to patrol and write tickets. Ive run into 5-6 cops in my life and atleast 3 of them made it a point to tell me they didnt like me.

lucky, here in CA, they force you to take it off. they wont let you just pay it, you need a signature and id number of the inspector usually a police officer at a local station.
at least thats what happened to me. it didnt even give the option to pay the ticket only.

Man avoid all the headache and drama and just pay the fine 40 to 50 dollar fine, and go on your merry way. Also thats very weird that you didnt get a ticket on the spot.Cause i've never even heard of that, getting a ticket in the mail for tint. Thats also funny when people jersey have tint all over even the windshield and its more than 20%, I guess it depends on the county in jersey
If you are really ____ed at the cop and they have tinted windows. Go to the station. Take a picture of the car and include the vehicle number of it. Then send it to the police department w.e in trenton and within a few day that car will be un tinted.
