Tinting Technique
i am a window tinter. there is now way i would ever remove the glass. a good enough tinter should be able to tint the window, without any gaps, without removing the window. i don't even take out truck windows. i just remove tabs that are in the way and cut even gaps in the rubber for a perfit fit. however, newer trucks are alway easy because they have black borders. but what does need to be removed are the door panels (if you want a clean job). and please don't tell me that the door panels don't need to be removed. i've seen way too many dusty tint jobs because the panels weren't removed. believe me, i see everything. and for keeping the window down for two days, the reason is because the film has a good chance of peeling at the top and being offsetted by the rubber's; especially on old hondas because of the tightness. after two days, the adhesive should settle good enough for the film to stay. But it still takes a week for all the water to disappear. in that time, you will notice little bubbles and streaks. and it is not because of a bad job, that is just how it is. it is impossible to get all that water out. it just takes time. a bad tint job would be a lot of dust trapt in film (no such thing as perfect tint job) and unevern cuts or gaps. if anyone has questions, just post. oh yeah, that privacy glass isn't even tint. it's just a coloring in the glass and has no uv or heat rejection. it is usually 13%.
