so i was thinking of replacing my scion emblems for toyota ones.
what do you guys think?

 

some people have done it but i wouldnt. i mean our car is USDM. not JDM.

 

it is your car bro, do what you want...but understand some people will hate it and flame you.

If there were some sort of Toyota equivalent to the tC (Japan or anywhere) it would probably be fine. But since there isn't, it doesn't make much sense. At all.

 

id do it. i kno the tc isnt jdm but i think the toyota one looks better. i think scion emblem is bulky thats just my IMO.

but i wanted to do something diff.

i saw some guy on the street with a murdered out tc and he had an "iloveJDM" plate

I guess I'd do it. Either fill it in or T emblem. I mean everything else says Toyota pretty much. I'll wait til I get a steering wheel though.

Hate to break it to you but you wouldn't be the first, nor the last, to do something like this..I wouldn't even consider this to be something out of the ordinary cause even that isn't true

 

Only the engine cover... all other badging says Scion.

Its your car. Wouldnt really be different.. there are even a pile of very old threads about this.

Personally, I like the scion logo way better than the Toyota one. And if I were doing anything, it would be removing the badges altogether. but its your car.

 

look guys, we (well most) of us know there is no JDM tc counterpart, but toyota does sell cars here as toyota, scion sells TRD (for Toyota Racing Development) instead of SRD (Scion Racing Development) parts, heck, even lexus now has f-sport parts, no toyota parts. our engine covers and owner's manuals say toyota toyota toyota all over them. and depending on what state you live in, the registration says toyota, so it really really isn't a big deal if you put toyota badges on a scion. it doesn't all go back to "i want my tC to look all JDM style."

 

But... it is similar to me putting GM badges all over the outside of my Saturn. Yes.. it is made by GM.. but it is a separate business unit.. so it is Saturn You could also put Mazda emblems all over a Ford Probe too.. but it would be kinda silly as well.

Not that I am bashing anyone for doing it.. but doing it just because Scion is a Toyota product seems kind of silly to me.

 

I say go for it, I am planning on putting one on my rear hatch.

 

i'm completely fine with toyota badges on a scion, but that is where i draw the line. if you put lexus badges on it though, then i'm going to have to flame you.
