Default Turn Signals

I live in Illinois and I was thinking of changing all of my turn indicator lights into blue LED bulbs. How much trouble can I get into with the police? Any suggestions on what other bulbs I can change into blue that would look good?

hes right

on the rear tho you can use red or yellow, other than that you are looking at trouble, i know of a guy who got deported (long story) for having blue turns in his civic, that probably wont happen to you, but that would be an expensive ticket

Yea def would look great on the rs2. i have blue turns in my front, but ambers stock still in rear views, i have not had any trouble and i know many cops have noticed them. Maybe out of the city (philadelphia) i may get hassled but soo far so good im sure many places i would have been stopped allready. fingers crossed lol

You could even get an impersonation-of-a-police-vehicle ticket! (Depends on if you hassle them when they pull you over.)

^^ Agreed. Unlike blue underglow or license plate lights, flashing blue lights can look like an actual police vehicle. Remember that impersonation of a police officer is very serious and definitely results in much more than a ticket!

How about getting bulbs that are blue-lensed and light up ultra white? I have the Polarg ultra-whites that are blue-lensed for both my turn indicators and city lights and haven't run into any problems from cops yet. Although, I think in cali you can have white turn signals in the front, but don't take my word for it.

dude its already too hard for californians to do mods like intake, exhausts, turn signals and stuff like that, many friends even myself been there, some cops are very strict when applying the law, some have better things to do, they just dont care and let you drive its like gambling, sometimes you win sometimes you loose

you can only have white or amber in the front, and red or amber in the rear. sides got to be amber and plate light has to be white.

Front must be amber colored. You can't have white unless there's an amber reflector in the lens and when it shines, all you see it mostly amber. I have the hyper white turn signals that are blue lenses but burn really white. I havn't been hassled, but my brother in law walked around my car and check the engine and said that for the exterior of my car, the exhaust, headlight vinyl, and front turn signals would be sitations. But he did say that it's such a hassle for them with paperwork, that most of the time, unless they are strictly looking for modifications on cars, they won't bother you. I just don't keep my blinker on long if I see a cop in front of me

Again, watch out with the HIDs. If they feel like searching your car when they have proboble cause, they could write you a sitation for the HIDs as well. Traffic cops are forced to learn as much about all vehicles on the road and as many modifications as they can. They should know almost everything that would come stock on a car as well. This is in MD, but I'm sure it goes nation wide........."Any alteration to stock, original equipment manufactured, parts is illegal and subject to a work order for repair and/or fine."
