to push down on the pump
heres what ive done but its not WORKING!!!
1. took of those clip things(2 of them)
2. top side up
3. PUSHING DOWN HARD!
NOTHING Is happending

yeah, you're talking about gas hood struts, right? like the redline quicklift?
yeah, even if you can't manually compress it, the hood will do it for you. IF the biscuit don't work, you can just unclip it. Mine were pretty tough to 'prime', and i felt as though i'd probably bend the damn thing before i compressed it, so i gave up and installed them.

I'm 5'6" 140, and it took my scrawny butt all my strength to get it cycled. I had to use two pairs of winter gloves, but that's besides the point. 
Those first couple flexes of the gas spring are tough as all hell, but when they do, man it's like butter.
