back on topic, this looks promising, better than the eBay stuff and more affordable than a true retro.
they told everybody that it would be a long while before they would see anything and then a time after before they could buy them. the newer people that were not there before are seeing the prototype and are getting ansy not knowing the timeframe.
yup, not blaming umnitza at all. they never did break any promises. those promised dates is what got the others in trouble. i knew it would take long when they had the original thread and decided not to invest the $20 because a lot could happen between then and the release date and I was a bit skeptical of the company. I might not have even liked the final design that I already invested in which wouldve been a waste. From the looks of the teasers, I might be interested in this but do not regret not being a part of the first 100. For those who were a part of the first 100 and dig the final design looks like they will score. And yes, the people who only heard of this whole thing now need to read that entire super long thread about the first 100 and look at those dates

Well, it's nice to hear everyone's input on this and how we should all be patient. I just think that Umnitza owes us a little more feedback then they are currently giving. If not for me, atleast for the 100 people that gave them $20 to do R&D. And with a price tag that they have mentioned, and the several dozens of people wanting to spend that money to get these, I think it would be nice of them to keep us informed as well as a good business move. If they want to sell these, then make sure you have buyers that are interested and keep them interested so that when they come available, there are people who still want to buy them. Just my opinion.

People are getting impatient because these are (supposedly) the first high quality headlight that can support hid's. I'm sure many of us would like to do retro's but, like me, I am too much of a chicken to open my headlights up and start slicing and dicing. All everyone wants to know is whether these headlight is making progress or not.
are they even searching and reading the threads?
I seen lots of progress. i call a completed prototype thats actually installed on a car major progress.
a working high quality product takes a lot of time.
the last thing they have said was only last week.
they are going back and making revisions.

I suspect that you have a few things in play, it is very likely that Matt is overseas. He does take trips and is out of touch for several days at a time, trips like these are very time consuming and normally a 20 hour day. Any time that may be left over to cover business in the states goes to day to day operations. Sorry, I don’t think that any of the forums are getting updates during this time.
Second you have several large west coast shows in the next few months including SEMA. Having to pull all the car platforms together that they service is not easy. Also they may have additional products they are bringing to market in addition to the SCION platform.
Manufacturing, those that work for them understand, for those that don’t. After the first working samples are completed, it takes 90 to 120 days to source parts. Then add another 60 to 90 days for production, you just can not walk into a manufacturing plant and say build this. Most manufacturing plants production schedules are already books 3 to 6 months. Then add shipping time to get them here to the states, which could be another 30 to 60 days.
I am not aware of Matt lead times on this product, I would like to see that it is very soon, It is likely to be a little bit longer on the actual delivery dates.
I will send Matt an email on the forums behalf ,
