This thread is for Umnitza and Umnitza only to post updates concerning the projector housing project. Please, for the love of all things good, do not post here unless you are Umnitza.

Thanks for starting this.
New update is that the headlight sent to one MFG was declined for quote.
We are getting it back Tuesday and will seek another avenue shortly. Will keep you posted with the information as much as I can. This is a hot interest on our part, please stay tuned.

Update.
Today we received the light back from our original MFG. They have declined to proceed as our mutual pricing goals were not compatible. No harm no foul - just an unforeseen delay.
So, starting tomorrow, we will begin to dissect the light ourselves and provde a mockup within a few days - probably by Friday next week. We've acquired some parts so we think we can put something together.

Ok, weekly update #2.
We have had 3 shops decline the work because they are "too busy" but don't worry.
I'm in discussions with a major Taiwanese firm that we do business with. I'm going to fly over there in a month or so and we'll get cracking on it then. In the meantime, I'm going to send that light to them to see if they can make it for us.

The H7 are ONLY for halogen, though I'm sure some "birdie" will allow you to "play" and do "things" to it...hint hint.
The D2S will be ONLY HID.
So about $650 for everything with angel eyes (ours) and HID and new projectors.
The look will be similar to this:

**Not sure if this is news to anybody else (It was to me)**
I emailed Umnitza yesterday and asked if there were any updates with the projectors. The reply I got was that they are planning on a christmas release.

Just an update. I didn't receive permission from Umnitza to post this...but I don't believe you guys should be kept in the dark. This is my first and last post in this thread. Once again, sorry.
Not actual product, concept headlights

In the next 3 weeks, we will finally have a fully working model on which they will begin making a production example.
At that point, in October, we anticipate being able to get our hands on the first model.
Those of you that paid $20 to get this off the ground will get first glimpses via email - DO NOT DISTRIBUTE IT TO ANYONE.
Then, we hope to begin producting in first part of November with delivery on Dec 1st.

That's the prototype on which the detailed plans will be based, that's not the final revision prototype (CAD) nor is it the production model.
It's basically a whet the appetite sort of photo. It's not the final.

[we] Had a very good meeting today [11/3/06] with the product team.
They set a tentative timeline of prototype by end of November/Early December.
Also they think the finished product can begin being built in early January - finally.

I'm taking time out as much as possible to give you updates as I get them.
I hope that I'm treating you all with respect by not uselessly giving you meaningless updates about nothing.
As of now, there has been an inclusion of another financier of this project, further forcing the hand of our developer. If there is nothing done within the next 2 months, this financier and I will shop it with another vendor here in the states for faster turn around.

I guess my patience has worn thin as well.
We have received many unfulfilled promises from the company we are using.
We have resisted going the Anzo projectors route because after discussions with Anzo, the quaity of the projectors and more importantly, the overall aesthetics of the headlights could not be revised to fulfill our expectations.
We took all of your $20 payments, made a list, sent it to the MFG along with $5K in parts, materials, and money.
We aren't giving up just yet, but it's not as rosy as it once was when we first started.
We will continue to keep you informed but we are working long hours and don't often have time to update the site.
