Default Undercar lighting laws

This will seem like a simple question, but does anyone know what the laws regarding undercar lighting are? I live in Arkansas and I have searced all over the internet and on the forum, but I cant find the laws for my state. Thanks for your help.

Well, that depends. In Louisiana, you can have the lights but you can't drive with them on. If you're parked then it's cool. You can't have strobing lights either but that's in Louisiana. I know in Clarksville, Tn. you can have underbody lights and drive with them on but they can't strobe. The cops their recommend not having red or blue lights because as you pass objects from the side I guess it appears that they look like they're strobing. What I usually do is find a cop at a speed trap around town, pull over and ask them. That's the best way I think and I've never been led wrong. Just find a cop that's parked somewhere, mostly at Hooters during lunch is where I find them. Good luck and if I find anything else I'll let you know. If you happen to find it online or find out from a cop let me know, I drive through Arkansas sometimes. Thanks and I hope this helps. Peace.......

It's dang hard to find these laws state to state, as they differ....

In OR, it's illegal to run with them at all on the streets... so, stationary in parking lots and shows it is...

Calling the state police is the best idea and seeing if you can ask regarding that specific item... most state police offices is where I find the info.

in texas, i believe that they prohibit the colors blue or red
due to the fact that it resembles law enforcement and emergency vehicles

The easiest way to explain this is...While you are driving...DO NOT TURN THEM ON! They are supposed to be for show purposes only. If you drive with them on...it's illegal..if not, ur good

^ Unless you're in California... as long as they don't flash and aren't red, and the bars aren't visible... totally legal...

AFAIK, in AL you can't have any non-vehicle-OEM lights (tails, brakes, etc.) that are red, blue, yellow, amber, white, or green (so as to not "pose" as police, fire, security, construction, etc.). However, a friend of mine has PINK underbody lights on a white 'Stang and he (yes, he ) has gotten out of numerous ticket occasions on the fact that the law specifically calls out colors, pink not being one of them.

Personally, I wouldn't drive with 'em on anyway... I think it looks tacky... I like them and the rest of the lights on when I'm parked... but that's just me.

I don't think no one really knows this one for sure. I asked a few cops that came into my job and some said that they've never stopped anyone for it and never will while others said that they'll always stop you. Depends who you run into really. I wouldn't run them unless I had a dark color like UV or blue. Even then...
