Default Valve Cover Powder Coating - COLOR HELP

Is anyone still doing this? I know I read a lot about it a ways back but can't find too much info about anyone actually doing the work still. Plus I'd have to do a core-exchange with it since I can't be without my current valve cover.

I've been checking the racecoated.com site and might send him an email... but thought I'd see if anyone else had any suggestions.

Damn... that racecoated guy lists a 4cyl valve cover at like $50. But the problem is getting the extra valve cover.

Well it's not that I need a "temp" one, or , I do, I guess. What I had planned on doing was getting a new one (or temp one, I guess) and having that one pc'd and then getting rid of the one that's on my car now.

Do you know how much one would be shipped (to 14870)? Or if a core charge would be involved or I would just sell my oem one?

I haven't decided on a color yet, but mostly b/c I don't know what I'm doing yet.

I got a reply back from one of the local places that said it would probably range from $20-$40... depending on color and probably amount of cleaning/prework/taping.

So if I had a brand new valve cover and went with a simple color, it would be a hell of a deal.

i would suggest sending the one thats on ur car and just using mines as a temp... the rental one i have has a slight chucked peice were the bolt that holds down the #2 coil pack is... it works fine, oil doesnt leak, but thats why i only use it as a temp cover. i would rather sell it for cheap then rent it because its not a vc worth keeping for the long run... plus between shipping... renting vc's out of state would be expensive for the person im renting to VS just buying it... using it.. and then fliping it for cash return... feel me? im not out to scheme or sell out on products... and im just lookin out for the renter of the VC... but if you really want me to rent it to ya i will lol... but its gonna be some bread.... i would just buy it and flip it... im sure in CA u could rent it out just like i have in miami..

So what color should I get? I just ordered a new valve cover to have coated (probably locally).

But red seems really common... and I don't know if I'm a "red" kind of guy. I was thinking silver so it'll match the car but I'm not sure it would stand out enough.

Oh, and I'm considering having them do my DC Sports strut bar the same color if the valve cover comes out nice. So I might end up with 2 parts to match.

What do you think?

Safety Cone Orange would be funny since you auto cross...

Blue looks good with silver and maybe could match the painters tape numbers heh.

maybe a matte/textured color to make it look a bit more unique.

Matching the silver may be difficult since you can't mix powder like paint.

The orange is actually almost a cool idea. I don't use painters tape, but my magnetic numbers are blue (ya, I'm hardcore... ).

If I do the orange I can get one of the spark plug covers in black to give it the full "cone" effect... not to mention my intake is black.
