vinyl wrap trunk and hood could it ruin my car?
so i have a silver tc and i want to wrap the hood and trunk black and i called a place they said they dont think its a good idea because the black attracts the heat and it will bubble the vinyl...should i just say ____ it and do it anyway cause ive seen it done to other scions????
there are a lot of cars out there that are wrapped. a bmw guy in the chicago area used to wrap his in flat orange and i know a few scions that have, as well as most advertising cars for stores are all vinyl/body wrapped and havent seen any issues with it. just is a pain when you take it off and depending on how long you keep on it will have a different 'look' to the paint than the rest of the uncovered pieces that have been in the sun
It'll be fine, wraps only bubble if it was poorly installed and like GQQSE13 said, if you wrap only certain body panels and keep it wrapped for an extended period of time, you'll notice slight paint fade between unwrapped and wrapped panels. But who cares, just do it.
If you ever get it removed, that vinyled part will stand out so much it won't even be worth it. Get it painted instead. If you are just worried about the bubbling, that probably won't happen if your guy does a good job.
just curious what color is your tc? because lighter colors won't show fade as much ( i had vinyl on my tc for about a year being in the sun a lot when it was NBM and it just showed a little bit of fade compared to what a local guys black tc did)
