vrd's for the tc's
hows the overall quality on the VRD fogs? it said direct clip in is that into the bumper and the existing fog harness? i want fogs and i like the scion ones and with my employee discount its still $320, and i think the location of the vrd's look better. any known issues?
nope, i have the vrd foglights, switched them over from the oem foglights i had.
some people told me that their light output isn't that good, and they are more for show than for actual light use. but i have HID 3000 k bulbs in them, they are bright as hell.

if you put HIDs into the fogs they no longer are fogs rather than they are driving lights. the white will not penetrate the fog.
as for this, i just got mine for 230 shipped on ebay and installed today. i really like it. eveyrthing is like stock. you basically slip them into the vents after moving the wires. there is a harness that wires up exactly like the grill fog lights.

Just so you know the color of light does nothing to cut through fog. Its been proven that yellow doesnt really work for it. Its just a misconception people have.

oh i know, driving to frostburg monday morning, i was practically in a cloud just past sidling hill on i-68. yellow fogs did nothing.
and actually, i have noticed that different color sun glasses help see through the fog.
when driving up i-95 from florida one foggy morning, i was wearing some blue sunglasses on my forehead becauase i new that sunrise was coming, and they slipped down over my eyes, and i noticed that i could see the silhouettes of vehicles ahead of me in the fog that i couldn't see without them, so i drove the rest of the way with them on. it was like having magic goggles.

Yup, the comment was directed at Sciontologist. But ya theres really no such thing as "fog lights" its all driving lights.
But you are right about the glasses Drax. Yellow lens glasses are best for this case. Unlike lights which project the yellow color out the lens work as filters. They take out the blue color in the light coming to your eyes so it helps you see through fog better since theres alot of blue in fog. *For those of you who dont know, every color in the world is a mixture of red, blue, or yellow.*
So if you want something to help you see better in fog, you would be better off getting yellow lensed sunglasses for $20 at Sunglass Hut, than you would be getting fog lights for that specific purpose alone.

It's all optical illusions. That's why they "dont" work. The light is there with white but when using different shades of light/filters whatever it appears as though you can see better. Like wearing yellow sunglasses when it's dark.
however, one of the benefits of different color lights is they have longer and shorter wave lengths.
ROY G BIV
Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet
that is the order from longest wave length (lower frequency) to shortest wave length (higer frequency)
longer wave lengths travel farther and are visible from greater distances. that is why stop lights, brake lights and turn signals/hazzard lights are these colors.
so while they're isn't a fog light that lets you see through the fog better, they make you more visible to others in the fog.

its 2 ways. my point is the yellow is there in the white too but by eliminating the other colors it gives you the perception that you can see better. everything you see is light, so by using yellow fog lights you're seeing the reflection of the yellow off of whatever it is in front of you. the yellow light is still there when using a white light but you're also going to see light reflecting off of every other color in the spectrum which makes it more difficult to focus on the objects that are clearly visible when using yellow light.
