Default We need some better aftermarket tail lights~!!

I damaged one of my tail lights and have been waiting for an aftermarket replacement. The tC looks really good, but the rear is still its weakest area, styling wise, if u ask me. I was going to get aftermarket tails any way is what I'm saying. But all we got are those nasty TYC fuglies. Is there nobody else out there who have something in the works? How can that be? It's an open market for anyone's taking, and TYC is only helping. I really hope we see some better tails pretty soon. I still wonder why TYC didnt just make some that looks like the ones they have for the xA.

Everyone voice interest for aftermarket tail light housings please.

cars look cheap as hell to me with aftermarket tail lights. I mean you will see completely stock civics/suburbans/rangers/etc. with just altezzas and lights of those sorts. teens to seniors just going in to the local auto parts store and getting these lights off the shelf. We got lucky with an all red tail light. Now we need to work on getting rid of the armber parts up front also. Then again this is only my opinion.

We have pretty generic tail lights if you ask me. They all differ slightly in design but they're out there, the same layout of all red with reverse lights at the inner-lower corner. The Chevy Cobalt(sedan), the Pontiac G6(sedan), and the Honda Civic are a few off the top of my head. The difference between tC tails and other ones is like a same painting done in different style, like impressionism vs. cubism vs. realism vs. expressionism vs. pointillism, etc. I dont want my tC to resemble other cars and especially not the ones I mentioned above, IMHO the tC looks a hell lot like a Cobalt sedan.

Everyone having the same aftermarket tails is not any worse than everyone having the same stock tC. And looking at the way tCs fly off dealer lots, it's gonna get really flooded really soon. I already get a same color tC parking at visible distance from mine when Im home or at one of my friend's.

Having more options available is never a bad thing. Companies already know we hate cheap, ricey looking stuff. And if they still come out with some riced out product, we can just not get it. Just look at the TYC tails, maybe not ricey, but sure is fugly, and look at the response from the tC community. I know there are many ppl who dont really wanna keep their tCs stock, and they wanna differentiate their ride from other tCs, I just wish all those ppl would voice their opinions too so we get some products out sooner.

I like OEM tail lights over any other, esp altezza style tail lights.

What any other?? The only other one is TYC, and those are publicly condemned fugliness. I think ppl are so altezza-phobic these days and are just as eager to jump on the call everything else "rice" bandwagon. I hate bling bling altezzas too, but I think TYC xA tails and Mazda style tails look pretty nice. Something like BMW 5 series tail lights would be tasteful and subtley interesting too.

I know I cant be the only one out there that's interested in some different looking aftermarket tails other than the TYC ones. Otherwise ppl wouldn't be redding out or smoking their almighty oh-so-fine OEM tail lights.

As usual, I also must spit upon the TYC tail lights. I however do like some alteza lights while at the same time dislike many of them. Alot have too much silver in them while others have a classy yet still agressive look to them (i.e. the ones TYC did for the xA and xB). I tell you now if they would have done the same for the tC I would own a pair no questiones asked. With the ones out now I feel like I am putting a rainbow on my bumper.

I would like to see a pair like the ones on the xA or I even like what Infinity has done with most of there stock tails like on the G35. All red LED's. I would put a red overlay on the TYC's but why spend that kind of money on an aftermarket part just to modify it yourself, running the risk of the overlay getting ruined or looking bad!

It's personal preference for people... I honestly think they're ugly as hell also. But there are people out there who like it. I don't understand why, because it's TOO MUCH to be on the tC. It disturbs the tC's smooth look, it's just looks like it doesn't belong there. But then again, there are people who have them and adore them. I'm just waiting till someone makes the tail-lights that are just like the ones on the Lexus RX 400.

Someone needs to come out with a led tail light that actually looks nice and doesn't stand out so much as the TYC. Just my 2cent.

Cars with similar tail lights are catching my attention more and more these days, bugging the hell outta me. The damn Cobalt is the worst by far, but others annoy me just the same. Some other cars with somewhat similar tail light designs are Nissan Maxima, Saturn Ion, Saturn L300, Suzuki Forenza, and Volvo S80... screw OEM.

Good job on the tails, but I just dont think smoked out tails are my cup of tea. If a set of non-TYC aftermarket tails EVER come out, I think I'll red out my 3rd brake light to match.

Saw some more cars with similar tail light layout today. Ford Taurus, Ford Focus, and Kia Spectra(think it's an older model). Im getting so depressed...

Yeah man until they release something a little better than the TYC U R just gonna have to smoke it, the tail I mean... IMO I think its just the
orange top part that makes it look bad. If the entire top was red and the bottom remained clear it would be much nicer.
