What do I know about diamonds. Don't they come from Antwerp?

Apparently they come from Taiwan and are right under that plastic engine cover of the VVT-i

Here is what I used to polish the valve cover
400 grit and steel wire bit with the Dremel - 800 grit - 1000 grit - 2000 grit and then the polishing kit for the drill

Nicely done. How long did you work on that?

TENNEYtheTC 07-28-2007 11:19 PM

Let's see, 8:30 - 12:00 and one LARGE pot of coffee. I tryed to be pretty timid with the dremel bit, sos not to scratch the shiznit out of it. I'm happy. I went to wash the car and had the hood up, just cleaning a bit and the people from the other wash stalls were peaking over droolin. Hehehe

damn that looks good.

rrimportracer 01-15-2009 02:03 AM

Wow... Looks clean! I started doing this a while back and for some reason never finished it. I think I may finish it this weekend

BZinn1 01-15-2009 03:49 AM

Once you have it on and drive a week or so you will need to go back and clean it again with neverdull.......and then the endless cycle of polishing will go on and on........I do mine about once a month and it cleans up in about 30 minutes good as new.

NVMyTc 01-15-2009 04:49 AM

I would just use some high heat clear coat and see if that would keep it looking shiny.

Good work though, get that header next :)

BZinn1 01-15-2009 11:38 PM

high heat clear will just crack in about a week.......been there done that...then you gotta sand it all back off and start over....really it is easy to maintain,I do it about every other car wash

TENNEYtheTC 01-16-2009 12:07 PM

Yep, once a month keeps a decent shine.
