I'm interested in getting a Nautical Blue Pedestal Spoiler installed on my '08 tC and trdsparks doesnt have it in this color, so i checked with the Toyota Body shop and they said:
$300 for the spoiler
$200 to paint and install it

Total of $500

your thoughts?

not worth it o.O 300 for an unpainted spoiler is a little...insane. when i bought my car, they were trying to sell me the ped spoiler for $350 painted and installed... but imo, that spoiler doesnt look good. id go with the lip spoiler hehe

 

I personaly am not really feelin' the ped spoiler, but whatever tickles your pickle for a nickle

 

Contact a Scion dealership. Ours in town has $430 +tax with install included. Of course this is Illinois but I would check with the Scion stores near you.

 

Find an unpainted one and take it to a body shop. You're always going to get ungodly prices from the stealership.

 

Sparks has a primered one. why don't you get that and find a good local body shop to match the paint (get references). But then (sooner of later) you'll have to replace your liftgate struts bec. of the added weight of the spoiler (about 15-20lbs add'l).

Or, you can post a WTB in the classified section (but you gotta rack up some more post to your current 40; you need >50 to post there)

 

I thought they already painted out of the box, at least thats what they do for the lip

They sell on ebay as well. had mine for about 8 months no with no issue and paint matches perfectly.

BTW this advice is gonna cost u $300.00 bucks..

 

thats not bad at all....my scion dealer charged me 850 to order it and paint it....thankfully tho it was a 16th b-day present from my parents along with fogs
