Default what type of lights cops will pull you over 4

i was wondering if i get 8k hids if i will be more prone to getting pulled over? i was reading here or some other scion forum that if u change those forward parking lights (if thats what its called :S the first turn on the light switch) to leds you'll defintily get pulled over. any answers or links to other post will be appreciated.

If you're in the wonderful state if Cali w/ 8k hids, oh yeah, keep you DL out and ready . About the parklights-to-leds, nah i don't think you'll get pulled over (on that alone).

It depends on where you are at. IF you put blue or green or red lights in your headlight parking lights, your asking to get yanked to the side of the road. I have 8K HID's and have not had a problem, as well as blue parking lights, but luckily, I've had no issues yet.

oh yeah, x2 on the color of any lights you put. No blues and reds in the front....and green? I think you're correct on that one

I was reading the CA vehicle code (coz i have that kind of time lol ) the only reason green isn't allowed here is to prevent people/cars from impersonating/imitating a traffic control device (aka stoplight). although the green angel eyes (Oz's) would've been cool at night. oh well..

Like everyone says, really depends where you are. I know here in NY 6k HIDs are pretty safe. I've had mine for 4 months and haven't had an trouble from cops. 8K is starting to push it but still shouldn't be that big of a problem. Underbody lights your definitely gonna get pulled over. I only turn mine on when I'm in a parking lot chillin with friends and stuff or if I'm driving around side streets. Never in the open.

Please dont run 8K here in cali....its like having your high beams on and it blinds the hell out of people...not only that...but CHP (depending on what county you live in) tend to be real a-holes....
just run the 6k's, there super white with a light blueish tint to them

It will depend on where your at and where your going. Not to mention what your doing. I have had Green LED parking lights (which is illegal) and have crossed the nation with them but i have had no problems since they dont stand out that well with the headlights on. My buddy in his rabbit got pulled over all the time since the parking light is not in the low beam housing, so it stood out more. Good luck and no matter what you do with lights, be ready for a ticket.

but seriously, don't put an HID (8K++) that'll blind you if you yourself were driving towards the receiving end. Remember the Golden Rule! If you insist on any decorative/colored lights, just keep a low profile...

What choo talkin' about Willis? ...

If you have bright enough low beams (ex. 9005 conversions), they will drown out the parking lights.
I've had mine in for a little over a year now and have had zero issues. And I just got pulled over on St. Patty's Day too.

Just don't be a dork and drive with just your parking lights on though.

If you're in Cali then you can drive with your underbody lights on as long as they're not red. But doing so will only draw unwanted attention to you.

he was asking about hids...
but anytype of lighting that is not "stock" is just a ticket waiting to happen...
especially underbody, its like having a big flashin neon sign above your car telling the cops "hey pigs, i wanna ticket...over here.....the one with all the other aftermarket stuff on my car"

^^ He also asked about parking lights. I dunno why but for some reason I read underbody lighting lol. I guess it falls under "what types of lights"
