any tips...this morning was a horrible chipping experience.....

 

park it in a garage or get used to scraping it.

 

scrape off what can be removed then turn on the defroster and spray this on.

 

chipping? fck..i didnt know u can chip ur car paint by removing ice. i am glad i dont live up north :\

 

get a windshield cover from the parts store. They're like 5 bucks, covers the windshield and tucks into the side windows. Works great

 

live in the south? jk. there really is no way around it. spray with hot water?

I used the prestone stuff works pretty good...but one can per application...sorta expensive.....can't find the bigger cans of it...

 

thats why i said get used to scraping it.

 

Oh man, ice scrappers scare me. I never used one even when I parked outside. Let the car do the work. Its nice to have a house with a nice cozy garage

 

short of defrost on high and let it run for 10 minutes you are doomed like the rest of us.stay away from hot water as it can crack the windshield.especially if you have any small chips,even ones you cannot see it will find them and make them grow to a new windshild.

 

i put a tarp on my windsheild

a blue one..

 

found some generic de-icer...works the same as the prestone stuff...1 dolla a can!

 

if you have to park out side , use a care cover.

you could do what i did. i moved across the country to az, lol.

but a more serious note, get an alarm/starter and start it up before you have to get in it.
