So I have a problem. I want to protect my cars paint when I take long trips from and to school, it's a 300 mile trip one way. So my question is the white plastic wrap that comes on the cars that are just delivered to dealership what are they call? I'm not talking About the clearbras. Any other options? I was thinking using painters tape LOL.

 

just make your own out of trash bags or something.

or you could just use painter's tape, just don't cover up your running lights or license plates.

but i drove 300 miles across maryland every week going to school work and home, rock chips are easy to avoid, just don't tail gate, and if you can, drive rring light traffic, either early morning or late at night.

 

The road I take back to school still has gravel from the snow. But does painters tape come in black?

 

still doesn't matter, don't tail gate, and if it is a back road, then the speed limits are up to like 65 mph like they are on the interstate or something. you don't get rock chips driving on lower speed roads like you do on the interstate because of the speeds of the cars and the gravel doesn't get kicked up as much since the cars aren't driving as fast.

 

get a bra for long trips. i do that and just take it off when i arrive or take it off when i get back from the trip. perfectly clean front end.

 

blue tape method. tape up ur whole front end and it rips off perfectly fine

 

Would a bra work with my rs1 lip?

 

i don't know for a fact, but it probably won't cover it completely. that would be an area to use some tape. at least it would be very little tape and it wouldn't be as unsightly as blue tape across the front of the car.

 

get one of this masks or bra. or what is it, them bug deflectors. heh...cars are meant to get dirty, the plastic wrap could ruin your paint job too.

If my work needs me I will need to drive back every weekend until school ends. So about 5-6 more weekends.

 

bra, 3M tape, or the best solution of all...dont tailgate.

 

If you don't want rock chips all over the front of your car do what I do, drive everywhere in reverse.

 

^ now that I got rid of my pedestal spoiler I can see out the back better so driving in reverse sounds good LOL. But then it would mess up my rear bumper. But yeah I don't tailgate, I hate ppl that tailgate me so I don't do that to others. But the rock chips happen when ppl pass me on the left.
