Here's a little write-up I did for my thread...

So, I got tired of my plain black rear Scion emblem. I was bored on my day off and decided to paint the "SCION" portion silver. For those that are interested in doing this, here's the materials used...

One "Scion" rear emblem...

One can of Dupli-Color Engine Enamel... (Choose a color of your liking.)

One can of Dupli-Color Acrylic Lacquer...

One Metallic Silver Sharpie...

Quick recap of the painting process;
1. Wash emblem in soapy water. Let dry.
2. Use paint and apply 4-5 LIGHT coats. Let dry completely before adding another coat.
3. Use lacquer the same way as the paint. (Refer to step 2.)
4. Color in "SCION" lettering with Sharpie pen. Have some Windex and a micro fiber cloth handy incase you "color outside the lines".

Your finished product should look like this...

That's all there is to having a sweet looking rear Scion/tC emblem!! Good job!! You've earned that beer!!
Same process for the front emblem also.
Of course you could sand and prime the emblem, but so far mine has held up for 2+ years now.
This has to be one of the easiest mods out there.

Yesssir. To remove the emblem, heat it up with a hair dryer. (To loosen up the adhesive.) Some people have used a flat head screw driver covered in cloth to pry off the emblem but I used dental floss. (Fishing line probably works the best though.) Once the emblem is heated it will allow the floss to 'saw' through it. Just be aware that there are 2 alignment pins on the emblem at roughly 4 & 10'o clock. So don't be discouraged if you can't saw through those points. Once you saw everything else the emblem will come off.

To re-apply, you have many options. You could use a clear silicone, gorilla glue, or double sided adhesive tape. I would go with the tape. (In case you want to take it off again.) Just make sure to get the tape that is dark grey in color. It's a PITA to cut the tape to fit the emblem but well worth it in the end.
