What's the secret to installing OEM Lower Grill?
Well driving down the road the other day something flew into my lower front grill and knocked it out. Now how do I go about installing this thing?
Everything I have seen indicate you have to muscle it in place until it locks in.
I see what appear to be locking tabs on the front bumper (are they molded into the bumper?) and I see the holes on the front grill...... but I can never seem to get them all to line up and lock in place.
Anyone have tips or pics?

Um nothign special. Just reach your arm down behind the bumper. set the grill where you want it. and then bang the front of the bumper where the locking tabs are on the grill. so one hand behind the grill at the tabs and one banging on the front bumper where the tabs are on the back side. Your bumper will be fine. Just gotta give it a lil motivation.
you got lucky! one night i hit a raccoon doing 65 and that little guy did a bang up job of tearing mine out! i have to get a new bumper and grill cause it obliterated the grill and tore the tabs off the bumper!
i use a little rope and wrapped it around and used it to pull out while i pushed the bumper in!
i have VRD grills and while they are pretty damm good, they still lack some fitment like the oem grills!

Anyone got pics of what the tabs should look like? I've never had my lower grille out, and I see what appears to be tabs, but not sure if they are remnant stubs of what the tabs should be, or if they are in fact the tabs. How long should they be?

Hit a fat one at ~35. The paint on my bumper is cracked, somehow the bumper split in 2 under the lower grill but my lip which covers it is ok, it knocked my grill into next week, and shattered a fog light.
Yea thats one way to do it. You hit the bumper with you palm and push on the grill. It works its how i did my VRD grills. The string method works too.
You dont need to be worried about the specific tabs. The lip in the bumper hole fits in the groove in the grill frame all the way around. If you do that, then you know the tabs are in place.
The grill is supposed to have metal speed clips that press in after the grill snaps in place to keep it from popping out. Seems lot of them dont have those. My original did, but when I had to replace the bumper and grill I didnt get any new clips with them.. need to find more. But to get the lower clips in you really need to pull the splash gaurds out.
