So I got a ticket for my tint being too dark. After being pulled over for speeding. Anyways I gota fix it ticket. The officer said my tint was 12%! Which it's not. He used some ___ box thing to measure. anyways, if I have a receipt of my purchase form when I got my tint done and it says the percentage of the tint can I get out of this ticket without stripping my windows? What an inconvience to me! Because if I have it taken off, I'm just goign to have it redone...

 

i have 3 % at least that is what my ticket says

 

all glass is factory tinted a little... so if u got 15% then its going to be lower casue of the factory. the glass isnt completely clear when u buy the car.

my dad is a cop he has one of those box things when i got my windows tinted 35% the box reads at 33%.

 

how much did u ask for cause it its12% and u asked for something that wasnt legal anyway theres no point in trying to fight it, i just paid my ticket yesterday, i paid for 20% and the cop put the laser and told me it was 13%

 

if I pay it. do i not have to take off the tint? I think I asked for 20% maybe 15... Either way. This sucks. I think I'll prob strip it and have it redone later.

 

i got 5% on the sides and back....cops here are pretty leniant and it helps that i drive with the windows down like 90% of the time

 

Still have to strip it here in PHX. I have heard of some people just going to the court and paying it and saying it is fixed (eventhough they didn't do anything), but that is just what I have heard. Keep us posted on what happens.

 

what happens if you just dont get it fixed? how do fix it tickets work is there a fine or something

 

Not to sure, never gotten one. I just heard you can go in and pay the fine and say you've fixed it. Now if they get you again for the same thing then there might be more trouble. Again, never gotten one so I don't know.

 

Doesn't the % change once the tint has a chance to fully adhere to the window in the sun or soemthing to that extent? I remember seeing somethng posted about that where the thickness you ask for might actually end up being more or less.
