I was driving on the freeway behind a truck delivering rocks, when this one big flew and hit my windshield. Now there is a crack on my windshield... . I got my 07 scion tc four months ago. Will the warrenty cover this or will I have to go to my insurance?

If I go to the insurance will they cover it or the dealership where I buy it from? Or is there a DIY method of fixing it?

warranty does not cover road hazards.

If the crack is a small star, you can have it fixed for about $50 or so, which is a lot less than replacing the whole windshield. But if it's covered under ur insurance, then just replace it

I forget what the word is that your insurance has for road hazard but you tell them you want that coverage to be changed to $0 if anything happens. Your monthly rate goes up a lil. But then just report it a week later and say ur windshield is cracked and they fix it for you for no cost...then u change your rate back to w/e it was...if that makes sense if i remember the word i will let you know..lol

yea thats what it is ...you change your comprehensive to 0...hows that insurance fraud. ur not trying to rob them of their money

The "fraud" part is having/paying for comprehensive with a deductible and sustaining damage while having the deductible in place.

If one then does as suggested and delays reporting the damage until after changing the coverage temporarily to $0 deductible (and giving a false date for the damage...), one has committed insurance fraud.

Your insurance company agreed to specific coverage at a specific rate, and if you suffer a loss while under that coverage, then change your coverage to something better before reporting that loss, you are indeed 'robbing' them - and costing everyone else a bit more to cover your fraud.

Is a legal no-no.
