Default Windshield Pits/Chips

Sorry if in wrong forum

Can these pits be fixed? How about Safelite? I know they fix bigger chips/bullseyes/spiderwebs and such, but anything in this category? How about some kind of resin or polish? It wouldn't bother me as much but it is right in the line of sight. As you can see there are 3 or 4 tiny pits, they are not as small as the 50 that are already on the windshield throughout that you can only see when sunlight is shining through a certain angle. Those don't bother me. But these do. I put a penny in there for scale. I can feel them with my fingernail unlike all the others, they definitely have depth to them.

Ditto on Info....my 05 has THOUSANDS of these damn things!!

It's too hard to avoid every little rock in the road...and too expensive to replace the WHOLE windshield....

How do they fix them? What is used? I know that bullseyes and spidewebs and cracks can be fixed but I haven't heard of small pits being fixed. This is my question. Not insurance wise. I dont care about that. I just want to know if its possible to fix.

Well, a new windshield costs $727.14 plus shipping c/o Sparks Toyota....I guess the only option for the war-ravaged windshields among us

this is the only thing about my tc that bothers me too no end, i have an 08 since the summer and i have thousands of pin sized chips in my window, i have no idea what theyre from either, they only show up when the angle of the light is right, and then its annoying to see through.

watching for some possible info here.

EDIT:

i just did a search for replacement windshields for the tC and i found this site....
http://www.glass.net/
there is three quotes all in the $250-$300 range.

I don't care what people say about the quality of glass has to meet a certain standard and there is no such thing as too soft or too weak a glass. Also for the people who say this is part of life and it is going to happen no matter what. I have had crappy cars that were 10+ years old and they haven't had near as many pits as my tC has in only 6 months. Something is not right in my opinion. I can't wait until winter when all the salt hits my windshield. That should do quite a job on it.

I don't even want the factory glass when I replace it because the same thing will happen. I want the cheap glass (in the 350 range) at least there is a chance it wont do this)

The pic that I have posted are 3 larger ones that are not like the ones that show up in light, they are about 3-5x bigger, constantly there staring at me straight in the face laughing at me. It is like when it rains, the size of a drizzle/rain drop but obviously won't ever come out. I went to glass repair shop and they only filled the pits with resin and then used the uv light so that they were flush with the window once again. They still look the same just won't have any chance of cracking or getting worse.

I also have hundreds of tiny tiny ones that only show up in sunlight that you guys are talking about.

After this winter I am definitely changing it. I don't enjoy driving my car as much as I did in the beginning because of this problem. (I don't care if that sounds crazy or not but its true)

That is the end of my rant article.

Default A day late ;) or more like a year lol

Sorry it took me so long to see this post but when you get a cracked windshield, if it is small like pictured in this post that can easily be repaired. If you do not know where to go try RepairWindshield.com or FixMyWindshield.com they are both great resources.
