So I had my wiper blade replaced with bracketless bosch icon blades and had them on for 2 months. Well they got stolen and I wasn't aware of it missing until I turned my wipers on. My damn wiper arm without any wiper blade on left a rainbow scratch across my windsheild. Anyway, what's the average cost on replacing windshields?

For cheap glass.. which I wont usually go for, you will probably be looking at $300 or so. For the OEM replacement I think it is between $700 - $1000

 

I'd check out a local auto-glass shop. Some light scratches can be polished out without causing 'optical distortion'. Is the scratch so deep that it can't be polished out?

The bracketless blades are expensive. They were $50 for both and is pretty much a universal fit for some cars. So it was a matter of time when it would be stolen. Not really concerned about my wipers being stolen but I'm so ____ed about the windshield damage. Anyhow, my deductible is $500 and my insurance probably will not cover it because the repair is probably under $500.

The scratches aren't that deep. I tried polishing it with Rain-X and it did not help.

 

I remember my dad's boss gave him a 540i BMW as a company car, leased it of course. well, my mom was driving it in the rain when the blades started to come off. long story short, she drove a good part of an hour w/the glass being scratched because she didn't know how to slide them back down. my dad wasn't too happy.

 

Rainx isn't a polish... lol... take it to a glass shop.

Yeah, but it's not like a padlocked-cover locking cover. It just snaps on and off.
