Wost day EVER....
Okay, so today was the day we were planning on getting my Um Nitza Angel Eyes installed.
My team consisted of a liscensed electrician and a car mechanic...couldn't have been better, right? Wrong.
After removing the front bumper and the headlights, came the whole oven deal. I was worried about this from the beginning...and now I know why.
We put the left headlight in the oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes as the instructions (which were beyond awful by the way) stated. Well...now my headlight is in the bottom of my oven melted with only part of the plexi glass still there.
Now either I need to get a new oven or Um Nitza needs to be a little more descriptive.
So yeah...no more left headlight, but just wait...we haven't gotten to the really bad part yet.
Immediately after my headlight was trashed, my friend who had just came in and was unaware of what we were doing picked up one of the Um Nitza Halos and snapped it right in two. He "didn't know it was glass...."
I just walked out of the room in a rage and basically had a mental breakdown. Now, I have 1 large beam light, and two low beams. And I can't hook my old lights back up because they're melted.
I'm going to go shoot myself...but first i'll try and see if theres anything else that can be done...

Damm man I feel so bad for you , specially considering I WAS going to put the same ones myself. The whole baking process suck in general. Too risky if you ask me.
By the way Im asumming your friend will be paying for the one he broke, or both of them because I think they dont sell them seperate.
Good luck man !!

My question to you is... Have you contacted Um Nitza about this problem before you posted here on this board??? (Don't take this the wrong way) I would be also ____ed if I had this problem happen to me, but I would at least cover all my ends then express my frustration so that all ends are accounted for. Good luck w/everything, hope something good comes out of this.

ok when you went to bake them did you put it on a baking sheet wrapped in alumnium foil? im pretty sure that if you put the lens down on the alumninum foil it wont melt the lens. and im sorry to hear what happened to you.

Wow.... Can't imagine how that happened....
Was it a GAS oven, or did you set it on broil?
Did you preheat the oven before putting the lights in there?
Did you set the lights on something to prevent them from touching metal (I Used a towel on a baking sheet)
I've done two sets of lights without incident... and had no problems whatsoever... 200 degrees shouldn't melt anything. I've had the lights in there at 200 for 20+ minutes before... and not even close to melting anything...
There's got to be some reason.....

I wouldn't get too scared... I was one of the first to do it, without any instructions at all, and had no problems....
I'd like to isolate what was done differently than me, and see what the problem was...
