Default 05 tC Manual..Starting issue..

OK, my friend has a 05 tC. I've looked through the posts and found nothing similar, manual trans, No power to starter when turning key over. I've checked connections to starter, all fuses,
switched relays to see if starter relay was failing, I'm almost at a loss, I'm no mechanic but I know quite a bit about cars. Usually that is. Any help much appreciated. Tia

Wow!
I’m having the same problem as your friend.
Beginning of month the car suddenly did nothing after parked home overnight, had the starter checked and was told it was bad so I had it repaired. Still nothing, so I decided to have the battery checked and weird being told it was completely dead so I bought a New one.
05 tC (133k miles) started just fine (about 6 times) and then no more starts. That time I had it starter with push start (Man Tran), got it home and disconnected battery to see if Alternator was failing but tC kept running fine.
I had the starter checked again and was told is good.

I am now so lost and now using online resources for similar problems.
A friend said maybe a Relay or the Ignition Switch could be bad but need to do my homework before spending money trying to buy the right replacement out of luck.

If you find something or figure out friend’s tC please let me know.

Thanks

Did you test the battery voltage?

Try turning on your a/c and bright lights. I'd still get the alternator checked to see if you're getting 14.5 volts.

ok, thanks.
I remember A/C was blasting just fine, I don’t know about the bright lights.

At the moment is at the garage somewhat torn in pieces but I’ll plug battery in tomorrow and check the brights (I’m guessing you mean High-Beams).
I ordered the started relay online and will try that once it comes in. If that doesn’t work, I’ll get Alternator checked. Thanks
