200+whp Daily Driver (project)
Ok so tonight is the night I decided the fate of my beloved tC. I have managed to put together some halfway decent builds. So now to the fun part -- the build lists.
NA
Injen CAI ($240)
MMW Header ($550)
Custom Mid-Pipe (18" Hi-Flow Cat + 18" Resonator) ($250)
HKS Exhaust ($420) DONE
NST Crank Pulley ($110)
NST Lite + Water Pump Pulley ($160)
ZPI Stage 1 Head ($550)
Port & Polish Throttle Body ($200)
Greddy Emanage Ultimate ($625)
Greddy Emanage Tune ($400)
Total = $3505
Expected HP = 200
Ok so since people have been really pressing on the FI i have decided to reasearch this option too. This is what i have come up with will be needed.

sounds great, i suggest a different header tho, maybe the AW or even better the MMW.
everything else seems fine, also make sure you wrap your intake in something that wont soak up the heat from your exposed header, becuase that would just rob you of hp.
also, unless you plan on doing everything yourself, the labor bill will come out to alot, so take that into consideration before you jump into anything.

its better because it wont give off as much heat, BUT the DC header does not come with the bottom brackets that the header needs to mount to the stock mounitng place, therefore it will just "hang" loose, because nothing other than the bolts on the head will be holding it. look for a thread on here, someone who had the DC had a cracked head due to the ____ty design of the DC.
also, the DC header is a 4-1 header, which will cause you to lose some low end power, but will yield higher end power, i would prefer low end if it was my daily driver, but thats just me. thats why i would suggest the MMW which is a 4-2-1.

yup, its a tru 4-2-1 header.
and i know mmw is usually crap, and the header probably doesnt have the best welds, but if it comes down to it, you can always redo the welds.. its not like they use bad piping.

Not to disappoint you, but you won't get anywhere near 200whp or even 190whp for that matter using that setup. Save yourself some $$$ and get a supercharger installed if all you want is 200whp. It would be wiser to keep the car under warranty if this is going to be your daily driver.

yeah stillmatic except one thing -- i have heard many complaints about the SC breaking and with my setup above i should be around 195-205 range depending on the tune.
Also stillmatic i noticed in your signature that you have an Scion tC Daily Driver that your gonna put a greddy tc on. It would be wise to keep it under warranty if its gonna be your daily driver.

Good luck man. 200whp N/A is gonna take a lot more than $3500. You need to get A LOT of work done to get to that level. Think about it, if it was really that easy and cheap then believe me, everyone would have a 200whp naturally aspirated TC.

FI is expensive as hell -- I dont understand where most ppl are saying it is cheap -- Does a 4k Turbo sound cheap? Then your talking depending on psi and a/r youll need a new clutch/flywheel and maybe even an emanage. Guys I have weighed both sides and 200whp NA is the cheaper route -- anything about 200whp would be FI all the way.
In my opinion it is not so much the cost that keeps ppl away from NA but FI is so boasted right now that everyone wants to do that and NA takes alot more time under the hood and alot more work too.
Oh and still have you ever researched NA for a Scion tC cuz you seem to be misunderstanding. That setup above should get 200whp. Anything above that setup yes will take alot of work and would be more directed toward a complete race engine instead of a daily driver. FI is not completely out of my head due to how simple it is compared to NA but until someone can show me a turbo kit for like around 3k then I just cant see myself being boosted.

200whp na > 200whp fi in my opinion.
i would just rather go FI with the s/c because in the end it cheaper than what you have listed and it comes with a warranty.
i would much rather dish out 4k for a s/c then about 4k for all motor simply because its WAY EASIER to install a s/c then it is to install a head or pistons, or any internals for that matter
