Well your first problem is the low tire pressure and by the sound of the exhaust you modified your car. My guess is you screwed something up while modifying it. The quick fix would be dont rev your car to redline.

buddy if you look at my profile you can see that I have aftermarket wheels on that came mounted and balances and with that said you can assume that the sensors are still on my stock wheels but as you can see this forum is about my rev limiter also I have a custom cat back dual exhaust kit thats bolted on so I don't see how an exhaust system would have anything to do with a rev limiter.

Can we stay on topic please....... And let's be smart about please

Ok well my guess is you pay to have your stuff put on which is why you are asking people about your problems which i do have the answer to. Your car has what is known as a drive by wire throttle. Your computer controls the throttle body. You tell the computer you want to go by stepping on the gas and the computer tells your throttle body to open up accordingly in order to move. Your computer wont let you red line because it is stupid. Your computer is just being smarter than you. In some newer cars you cant even come close to red line in neutral. This is also why newer auto cars with turbos do not have a blow off valve.

is this when your foot is held down?

i beleive 07's have "fly by wire" throttle, maybe theres something wrong with the sensor on the pedal?

ok ive made a thread on this already, 07-08's are different i discoverd this as well on my 07 , 05-06 when u hit redline it bounces off the rev limiter, so if u over rev IN GEAR it just bounces off the redline, now on the 07-08 we dont have the "bouncing " effect lol, it just dies, just like when u hit 127mph, ur foot is to the floor but it just dies, meaning the fuel is cut "fuel cut off" or sumthing like that, which sux for us 07-08 because when we over rev, instead of bouncing off redline and being able to shift to the next gear still being in around 4k rpms, ours, when we over rev it cuts out the fuel, making it bog when we shift into the next gear and lands us in the 3k range which sux........

long story short 05-06 bouncing rev limiter 07-08 fuel cut off...or sumthing like might not be the right word...now u stay right before redline beacuse your in neutral but if ur in gear it will just die... (dont even try it or do that again ur just gonna break ur motor)

but if u ever reached 127mph u know what im talkin bout when i say it dies...then picks babck up....

i hope this clears up everything....ur welcome in advance...

Unfortunately all my friends that have a tc its either and 05 or 06 and you all know then engines are diff in the 05-06 then the 07-08. So pretty much if i'm in neutral and i floor it my car hits redline and literally just idles there and i honestly dont think thats to healthy for the engine. Anyone else out there experiencing the same thing or has any answers as to why. By the way it doesn't do it in the 08 models.
wow thats an odd problem

Thanks. This is the exact answer that I was looking for. I thought something was wrong with my car everytime I would shift at redline because it would bog but now I know why. So from now on I will shift at 5500rpm when I'm racing or so.

nah its fine, perfectly normal for our models, u can shift at 6 and if u do accidentally over rev, wait a lil longer until it reaches 6100 to shift or u can shift a lil slower so u can catch that 6200 if u do over rev... thats what i do when i go to the track... your welcome again..

and the reason fuel is cut off is because of your computer that controls your throttle. I Called It!!

Ive never done it myself, and dont want to see if mine does it as well, but it could be the computer programmed not to allow it to hit the true redline when not in gear. For example some chevys will not go above around 4000rpm when in neutral. Sounds like it could be a motor saving computer programming. Thats my educated guess though.

Based off that video I would guess the stock ECU is controlling the throttle body instead of cutting fuel and spark. What I want to know is does your car do this while driving in say 3rd gear. In my 05 I can shift at almost exactly 80 MPH from 3rd to 4th (~6400 rpm). If this does what I think it does then you will have to shift sooner (say like 77 mph). I am guessing the 05-06 ECU's have very little logic to controlling the drive by wire throttle body but the 07+'s are more advanced. I personally think having the ECU control rev's by this method is the safest way for your engine.
