Another downfall, don't know if it was stated, is the fact that they reduced the tension and thickness of the top and second piston rings. For people wanting to boost, this could be a problem for when there is more pressure applied to these rings, they would tend to bend/give more and more blow-by can occur. It did reduce friction though, but is it that big of a difference? I need to know if there are going to be turbo kits out for these newer models or not, I will PM dezod and zpi to see if they are testing and how its coming along. Maybe the new maf is better for boosting, we will see what dezod and zpi have to say...

Maybe it might be worth it to do a little bit of internal work just to be safe if you are considering boosting an 07.

yeah thats what I was thinking too, but I just got a reply back from dezod saying...

Our 1st kit we sold, the gentleman opted for the .63 A/R and boosted to 10lbs. His results where nothing shy of amazing! I will let the dyno speak for itself:

http://dezod.com/pd_force_fed_concepts.cfm

The kit is fully bolt just like our other kits. Comes with all that is needed, expandable and a solid performer as you know to expect from us. Any Q's hollar at me!
So I am guessing that the motor still is doing well with boost. I don't know what this guy had for add ons (i.e. exhaust, etc.) but the numbers are still pretty good. I know that what I want to do is boost about 7-8 pounds, and the way I want my setup to be is to have a standalone, I just wish dezod would release that already I don't really care about numbers that much, I just want a real good tune, and I accomplish that, I will lay down good numbers anyway. If I were going to do internal work I would do everything... Weisco pistons (8.5-1 compression), Eagle rods, new sleaves, port and polish, titanium valves, springs, retainers(or whatever would fulfill my needs) ARP head and rod bolds, and maybe if money would allow it blueprint everything. That is my dream, but with my car loan right now I can do anything. Oh, and I would do the build myself, so I would save a TON there.

Ya, I personally will probably in the future do internals anyway, even if my numbers are relatively conservative and able to work well with stock internals.

out of curiosity how much would it cost to boost the '07 if someone like me (who doesn't have the resources to change internals and put in the turbo)? how much would it run if i wanted a setup in which i could keep my stock internals?

well the best kit I personally think that is out right now is dezod's, comes with the plug-n-pay injectors and harness for the e-manage, and everything else that you need is included. The kit from them is around $4300, with comes with the e-manage pretuned and everything else. You are going to need a full exhaust too, a new beefier clutch, and on top of that if I were you I would get it tuned or try and tune it yourself. Like I said it comes pretuned but everycar is different. I don't know if every company has kits out for 07's or not so thats something you are going to have to research yourself and if you are looking for some place to install it, call and ask around at your local shops. I imagine its a pretty hefty fee, but the kit should be simple enough for you to install. Read one of the articles or tech guides on here with people installing their kits and follow those if you need help. Plus, dezod is great with customer service, they will help if you have any problems. No matter what you do though, it isn't going to be cheap. Look to spend anywhere around 4500-5500 total, depending on what you want/need. Hope this helps!

^^^very helpful, thank you! '07 research started. I am thoroughly concerned by the lack of options of parts on the market (considering purchasing a used '06 now). I would be extremely interested in testing out parts for companies as I am serious about my driving, autocrossing, and improving my car's performance.
i am getting her bone stock and putting on some coilovers asap. Contact me if anyone is interested.

well thanks, there is actually tons of aftermarket out there, you just have to search. Don't give up on the 07, its actually quite nice. Besides the weaker springs and the little higher compression, every change made was for the better. Just give a little time out for companies to make new engine products and there you go. You could always do an underdrive pulley, lightened flywheel, exhaust, intake, whatever you want, that is still there and hasn't changed.

To answer the second question, I love my tC, although the wheel gap and the height and throw of the shifter is agrivating, that all will change within the next few months

I just installed my STS today. I love it. SOOO much better. And Id like to add that with the 07, there are two clips that hold the top plastic piece that holds the big pivot ball in. Extra securing the ball I guess.

Some people have mentioned that it makes shifting harder, especially a pain in the ___ during the winter. That might have been their personal opinion but still trying to weigh things before I decide on it. Can anyone suggest a nice STS?

Sorry to threadjack btw.

Well like I said, my TWM short shifter feels awesome. I also installed some Redline MT-90 and the base and shifter cable bushings at the same time

Well like it says in my sig, I am going to be getting the TWM Stage 2 short throw shifter. It seems to me that the 2 most popular shifters out is the TWM and the creative compacts. The main difference between these two is **** height. The TWM Stage 2 is a 35% shorter throw, and the **** height is dropped by 2.5". The Creative compacts STS has a 30% shorter throw than stock and the **** height is dropped by 1.5". So basically it is all in what you are looking for. I want the TWM because I feel like I am driving a truck right now with the stock shifter It also has the shortest throw available. If you like the stock height then I would go with either ark or the TRD, even the TWM stage one has a decent throw and just .5" drop. You will just have to read reviews and see which one is best for you! heres a link to the STS sticky...

STS thread

nolanspawn, how does the STS feel? Is the notchiness gone when you engage it into gear. More solid feel? I am looking to get the Special 2 on the site, with the ST, bushings, and boot.

On another note, I am now looking at what I need to raise my redline... I am thinking head work...

there is not going to be anymore power past redline. our power already starts to drop right before redline.

in the earlier models, not on ours it continues to make up to redline... just look at the dyno up above the max power is right at redline.
