It's all BS in my opinion. You don't need a designated 25K service. How old is your car?

An oil change is probably enough. Check all of your fluids and brakes. Your car is probably too new to need new fluids, spark plugs, etc. Don't get conned here. I hate to see the dealerships do it to people and everytime i'm there, they try to pull that crap. "You need a throttle body cleaning". "You need to have your belts checked for the minimal cost of $300", etc. Based on your mileage, as I said, check your brakes, do an oil change, maybe throw on new wipers if needed, and you're done.

For your own peace of mind, do a thorough look through of the car. (I honestly don't even know what the 25K service entails, in case you want to let us know). I've never done any of those, that's why.

my dealership doesnt really have a 25000mile service...7500 is a LOF and R+B...we do 15k minor tuneup (pcv replace, clean tb, and replace air filter), R+B, LOF, 15k service (full inspection, oil suppliment, and adjust p.brake) then theres a 22500 which is a R+B, and a LOF. 30k is the big one. LOF, R+B. 30k service (full inspection, oil suppliment, and adjust p.brake), coolant flush, tranny Drain and fill, fuel injection service, and a minor tune up. then it repeats the 45k is the same as the 15k and the 60k same as 30k...LOF at every 5k when light comes on or sooner if you want and a Rotate everyother LOF...hope that helps so the 25000 no idea what the dealership does we dont have one at mine.

I don't know what the cost for 25k check up is. However, I would probably just do the oil change and wait until your 30k check up which is considered a MAJOR maintenance check up by toyota. I found coupons to a dealer with a price of about $350 dollars; but when I called that dealership to schedule the appointment, I ask the service advisor for the price and I ended up only being charged $180 for my 30k checkup.

i haven't done a single maint checkup on my car and it's awesome. it's all bs, they "check" this, "check" that, and basically just change your oil and charge you up the a$$. save your money and check things yourself, you'll be better off.

"Inspect exhaust hangers and bolts"

Yup, I really see the need to pay Toyota $300 for that.

Ive had the same plugs in my car for the last 3years that i have had my supercharger on for. Should I put new plugs in? Please comment - thanks

There was a thread on here about a week ago explaining how to check your chassis bolts. Pretty much making sure that your subframes, lca, motor mount and rear control arm bolts are tight enough. Other than that I would just take a look at the belt. Which can be done by removing the driver side wheel and plastic cover. If you see any tears that are beginning to form or stress cracks just replace the belt. Check for leaks around seals such as the valve cover, oil pan, rear and main seal. Any of these should be easy to spot and replaced before they create a bigger mess or a problem down the road.

If you really want to get into it check your bushings but either methods of replacing those are expensive. Since you can only go with the ES master bushing set or buy oem. Both will be expensive to install.

The Tc should be fine, there are not any reports with major issues with engine components. Now if I had a VW or Audi you better believe I would be replacing my timing belt and water pump right at 60k miles even if they seemed ok.

I had to replace a s/c idler pulley and belt at 60,000. Check to see if your belt is hanging off any of the idler pulleys when your car is running, if the belt is hanging even a tiny bit off of either of the two s/c idler pulleys... this could mean that the bearing has gone bad in the idler pulley. Cost me approx $60-$80 for one s/c idler pulley from the dealership.

Just a heads up on service. Make sure you ask for scion service pricing its cheaper. labor is at least 50 dollars cheaper than on toyota models. If they try and BS you call Scion corporate.
